  • The apartment was beautiful and cozy. Kid-friendly which was a plus since I had my 3 yrs old daughter. We loved how there were fresh eggs and scrapple in the fridge. Everett & Marlene were so welcoming and friendly. They gave us some beach options (they were a little of a drive but worth it). This place overall was amazing. My family and I are looking forward to staying again in the future.

  • We were not able to go to the apartment for our reservation, but the communication with Evrett and Marele was very fast, courteous and accurate. we will book next year when we visit the region.

  • Great place to stay, I look forward to returning. Extremely clean, spacious, well stocked, great scenery, and very hospitable. Not a far drive from beach, beer, and great food for the price.

  • Thank you so much for letting us stay! Your hospitality and quick responses were unbeatable!

    Hannah2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a vacant night during our road trip and we were really charmed by Marlene and Everett accommodation. Really easy to find and they gave you extra information in case your GPS doesn’t take you right at their door steps. Self Check in make it really convenient. The place is large and really clean. You will find everything you need, even some fresh eggs! Delicious! The only down point is that is quiet difficult to find food (meat in particular) close by and the farmer market near by is a little pricey (but you will find a lot of other farmer market and a food lion 15/20 min away) 100% recommended !

    Candice2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely thought of everything! Very welcoming & friendly. The goats and chickens were a treat, with fresh eggs waiting in the fridge. Very clean, organized, everything you needed plus things that you might have forgotten at home. Fresh linens, towels, plenty of room with double bed, air mattress and roll out bed. Got in my yoga practice & mediation with the chicken and goats before we left in the morning. Would stay again and would recommend to a friend. We got to the beach in about 20 mins, found a Starbucks and Dunkin on the way. Great little farmers stand around the corner from house.

  • Expect an amazing stay! Adorable apartment and above and beyond amenities.

    Allison2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts Everett and Marlene have a lovely Airbnb. I was impressed by the cleanliness, quiet and how they seemed to think of everything. I hope to stay again!

Modern, rustic, eclectic decor in the main room, and the 2 bedrooms are a spa-romantic style in one bedroom and an elegant eclectic in the other. This is a one-floor, private suite with a separate entrance. Full bathroom and simple galley style kitchen. I am nestled a half mile off a secondary road on a ten acre wooded lot. Lots of wildlife and extremely peaceful, a perfect getaway! Located 30 miles from the Delaware beaches and 45 minutes from Dover Downs speedway.
This suite is a basic 5-area apartment: A galley kitchen, a living area with bistro seating, a hallway that leads into a full bath and 2 guest bedrooms. 880 sq. Ft.
This is a very rural area with lots of farms. There are a couple local businesses, but it’s mostly farmland, fields and Meadows and some woods. A very relaxing and low maintenance lifestyle. Very quiet and peaceful.
  • Lisa was a wonderful host. She added so many thoughtful little touches, like bath salts and extra toiletries in case you forget yours. She also decorated the space beautifully, it's even nicer than the photos. We did not see a wifi password, but we did get cell service and that was fine by us. And the location is rural, a short drive away from the beaches rather than right in the middle of things. For us, this was absolutely perfect, because we wanted to relax and unplug. If that sounds like you, then you will love your stay here!

    Kristin2018-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very wonderful place to stay. Super relaxing.

    Ana2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa is an exceptional host. Extremely helpful and communicative, her place is sparkling clean and it’s very clear that she takes great strides to make her home a wonderfully welcoming place to all guests. I would highly recommend this stay - nestled in the woods - it’s a lovely getaway! We happened to stay during a 100 degree heatwave and were very grateful for the high functioning AC!!

    Shannon2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa was great. We met her upon arrival to show us around the Airbnb, but she then gave us our space throughout the rest of the stay. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of space to exist with a few people and a dog. Many nice touches throughout! Highly recommend.

    Josh2019-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa’s unit was great. Away from everything which made it peaceful and restful. Lisa was very hospitable. The unit had lots of great decorations and Lisa provided a lot of great extras that made it great. Coffee, teabags, muffins, strawberries, yogurt, bathroom and beach products, etc. She really went far and above. We went to the restaurants she recommended: all we’re fabulous. I strongly recommend Lisa’s place.

    Anna2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • We just had a great family weekend at Lisa's place. The place was beautifully maintained and we could tell right away that it has been cared for with lots of love and thoughts. Every corner of the rooms have creative touch with a taste, and our 2 nights stay was very comfortable. We felt very welcomed by Lisa's hospitality (amenity, food and drinks that were well stocked), and also by travel/dining tips she had provided. The communication before and during the stay was great as well. If you are looking for a peaceful place in a little woods and fields, this is a perfect place to choose. Jericho the cat was very friendly and we loved hanging out with him.

    Izumi2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Lisa was absolutely perfect. She is SUCH a gracious host and includes so many thoughtful touches surprisingly absent from many Airbnbs. The kitchen wasn't only stocked with essentials, we found the fridge filled with fresh berries and muffins to enjoy. The bathroom had a clearly placed first aid kit that we actually used when one of us cut ourselves cooking in the quaint little kitchen area. The woods made us feel so peaceful, despite being on a business trip. We can't wait to come back and enjoy Lisa's hospitality again!!!

  • Nice place. Easy to find. Unfortunately we booked this place because it had internet as I needed to attend a virtual conference via the internet on Friday night, but the internet was not working when we arrived and the host was unable to address it until they returned later that evening. We had to use phones as hotspots and had to use up a bunch of data.

  • We really enjoyed our stay here & will definitely come back when we visit friends in Dover. It is a small cabin, but had everything we needed. Clean & comfortable.

    Laura2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • The place was perfect small but spacious enough decorated very nicely and immaculately clean. The pond was loaded with fish and such a quiet serene space. Heather wasn’t supposed to be home that weekend but was but we would never have known it her pups were adorable. I actually kinda wanted them to be in our way I wanted to play with them! The locals were very friendly and the beaches very close - we can’t wait to return - highly recommend!

The private house was also extremely clean and had everything we needed. Heather was also a very thoughtful, accommodating, and attentive host. Would definitely recommend and would return if we’re ever back in the area.

The J&M House is located on the back part of a beautiful large property we call East Gate which is used as a cooperative for other businesses and events in our community. We will disclose any planned events at the time of your reservation as you may want to attend! This modern yet cozy home was custom built by our son. We bought the home from he and his wife so that they could pursue new adventures. This home accommodates from to 2-5 people, depending on your preferences.
The home is spacious but cozy. There's plenty of room for privacy and spreading out. It is only 30 minutes from beaches and tax free outlets.
The property has only one close neighbor. There is a meeting building that is usually unoccupied as well as a large farmhouse that's being rennovated during the day. We will disclose any event planned during your reserved time to be sure it fits well with your desired stay.

  • Absolutely beautiful place, and an amazingly hospitable host! This was, by far, the best place we we could have chosen to stay in all of Delaware! I am SO happy we chose Air B&B over a booking a stay in a hotel!

  • A small house with big personality! We had a great stay at Sue’s place—gorgeous corn high in the fields, spacious yard for games, and small touches around the home made it a perfect stay for our group on the way back from the beach. Thanks again for the lovely time!

    Shelley2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved our stay in Sue’s barn! This is one of my best airbnb experiences because it was everything we expected and so much more. This is the perfect place to escape metropolitan life. We had a blast and our dogs were happy! Sue thought of everything and was quite literally a super host. Even though we were within driving distance to several beaches, we ended up staying on the farm the entire time because it was so relaxing. I highly recommend Sue’s place to anyone looking for a quiet and scenic place to unwind.

  • Sues barn is lovely. Her home is next door so if you need anything she is near by! We had everything we needed. This was the best AirBnB I’ve stayed in. I say this because there were so many toiletries and kitchen supplies. Home just as pictured. Definitely recommend. Also, we loved her dog Rome!

The room and bathroom exceeded expectations. Everything was very clean. I would definitely return and highly recommend!

    Elisabeth2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful large family farm house that has been turned into a lovely Inn. It is located on a quiet road in Southern Delaware, but close enough that you can get to a variety of things that this area has to offer. Although the area is rural, there are great restaurants a short drive away, places to go antiquing, or just sit back and enjoy the quiet restful surroundings. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable with superb pillows. There is plenty of space to relax within the inn or on the outside deck. And there is a huge family kitchen where you fix your morning coffee, store things in the refrigerator, and the opportunity to fix yourself a meal. The wonderful difference at the Shawnee Inn is that although it is a big family home evolving into an Inn, you don't feel like your invading someone else's space to make coffee and toast, store your cold items, or get an evening snack. Diane, Margaret's daughter, was our hostess; she was easy to talk with and ensured that we had everything we needed. We will stay here again when we are back this way on business, or we might just venture down here for a weekend break from suburbia.

Very quiet relaxed location in the woodlands at McCauley's Pond that is close to nature in a bucolic setting. Centrally located to the Milford / Dover area and local bay and ocean resorts, casinos and regional sports complex. Of course, your stay includes a freshly prepared country breakfast each day. Please note, check in is from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.. No smoking in the house or on the premises.
Bedroom and bath is recently renovated. Private bathroom is very functional, modern and attractive, personal items available. Great view of the woodlands and stream valley. New pool table & renovated space in basement.
Very quiet secluded neighborhood just off of the beaten path that provides easy access to local businesses and attractions. In the country, not within the City limits of Harrington.

  • Sue and Charles were amazing hosts. We stayed in the rustic room a couple nights and upgraded to the apartment a few nights, both were so cozy and quiet. Sue and Charles are both very laid back and did nothing but make sure our stay was comfortable and make sure we had everything we needed. The property is a slice of heaven, a real nature’s paradise. It was the best of both worlds, an amazing camping trip with all the benefits of a 5 star hotel. Needless to say I will defiantly be staying there again. Sue also told me the host events and I can promise you we will be booking all the rooms in the future for my out of town friends and family. Don’t hesitate one second to plan a relaxing get away and see how amazing this place is for yourself!!! Thank you guys for everything!!! Mike Mullen

  • Sue and family were so inviting and personable. They responded to our late request fast and gave us a warm welcome. Our stay was so special because not only was the property beautiful, the hospitality we received was amazing! Sue brought us her specialty coffee drink in the morning and even cooked us breakfast. She provided us with so much information about the surrounding area and local tips. At the end of our stay, she took polaroid photographs of us as a souvenir. Would recommend to anyone!

  • The host provides a very welcoming space. The house has so much character and beautiful land. I love the outdoor shower and tub feature. The space my husband and I stayed In was a cute loft style space; we mentioned it was our wedding anniversary and she surprised us with champagne . Im a persons who appreciates the small details like that. Thank you Sue.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Sue’s family home for four nights and it was absolutely beyond both of our expectations. The house is beautiful, clean, and so unique. You MUST take advantage of the beautiful nature, outdoor shower/bath, and Sue’s amazing food and destination suggestions. She made us feel right at home and even made us breakfast and the most DELICIOUS coffee. On our first night we had a perfect room, though she upgraded our room on the second day (totally not necessary, but sooo sweet of her). We will most definitely be returning and can’t wait to explore the area even more. Thank you so much Sue!

    Carly2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Sue was definitely what Airbnb describes as a "super host." To start off, right when we got there, she offered for us to stay in a nicer room than we had initially booked. She saw it was my girlfriend and me, and explained to us that the one we had booked was typically for one person, so we got a nicer and bigger room for no extra charge. Sue was very helpful when it came to suggestions and tips for what we should do during our four day stay in Delaware. At one point, my girlfriend and I were planning on going to a family restaurant, and on our way out the door, Sue suggested a much better place (Seafood City) which had live music and excellent seafood and drinks. Sue was also incredibly thoughtful -- leaving fresh berries outside of our room on our last night there, as well as offering medicine when my girlfriend was feeling under the weather. We will definitely be contacting Sue again to stay at her place the next time we go on a beach trip, or any other time we are in the area. She was helpful, kind, and very generous to us during our stay. P.S. Sue is also very environmentally friendly which made our stay even more enjoyable.

  • Sue's place was just as described; a romantic and relaxing get away spot in the middle of Delaware farm county. The apartment was spacious for me and my husband and our two large dogs. The first night our dogs were a bit nervous sensing the other people and dog on the property but after that it was like they were home. Btw their dog Rome is a calm sweet guy who is extremely respectful of guests. Our dogs loved the wide open spaces and we enjoyed the quiet change of pace. A wonderful break from NYC.

  • Very pretty property. The jacuzzi tub was great and spacious. The bed is super comfy. Tons of amenities. Sue is very friendly. There are other people living close by so it was not as private as expected. No one was intrusive, just wouldn't want to use the outdoor tub or shower nude. Everything else was great.

  • Sue is a fantastic host! Very passionate about her home and very welcoming. She is very knowledgeable about things to do that are near by which is very useful for someone who is out of town and may not know the area well. She made special accommodations for my 4 year old daughter and I including a new book we had never read before but definitely won’t forget. Thanks Sue!

  • Sue's "Summer Home" is absolutely a dream. Everything you could possibly want is on hand: toiletries, extra towels, a few options for cooking breakfast (including bacon!), an entire binder of local suggestions... The guest-room is equipped with a mini kitchen, an adorable electric fireplace, and a large TV with streaming options, all of which were extremely useful. Being able to cook our own breakfast was the very definition of convenient! The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, and the house was very quiet, which made sleeping in a breeze. Sue left thoughtful touches in the room, inclusive of popcorn and wine coolers, and even surprised us with cookies when we came back from the beach for the day. She was very flexible and accommodating with a late check-in (due to work and traffic), and then on our last morning, she offered to take some fun Polaroids of us. We will definitely be back! I cannot recommend this charming AirBnB and wonderful host enough.

We are located directly on Route 16 the main beach route to Rehobeth beach, which is about 30 min from our location.
  • We loved it here! It is a clean, beautiful, comfortable B&B. We loved seeing the horses.

  • Could not have been a better experience for a quick overnight stop-over on the way to my brother's house. Beautiful property and accommodations, easy to get to, great service. Waking up on a farm with beautiful horses and getting breakfast cooked for us was really a great start to the day. Highly recommend and would definitely repeat.

    Ted2016-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Mom's Bed and Breakfast was excellent. From the home to the horse stables, it is quite a site. The house is beautifully decorated to make you feel home, everything is as clean as can be and all of the details are well thought out. Sidney was very helpful in getting us checked in and giving us directions around and the woman who made breakfast could work in a restaurant kitchen if she wanted. The house is about 25-30 miles from the beaches, so keep that in mind for your trip, but the price and beauty more than make up for it. My allergies went haywire from the horses and dogs, so bring some meds if they might bother you.

    Sergio2015-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Gracious host with a great background as a horse trainer and breeder. Wish we had more time to talk with her about her experiences as a horse judge in places such as Brazil, really interesting. House was very comfortable, we were lucky and had it all too ourselves but even the room was large enough and a good value. Breakfast was included (eggs, pancakes, bacon). Good food, nothing amazing but for the price, a good value. Was looking for a horse farm not far from the brewery or beach and was more than pleased with our stay. Even got a coo, tour of the barn where the beautiful horses reside.

    Jack2015-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • The location is not part of a neighborhood, rather a lovely secluded property out in the countryside. We never met the host, rather members of her staff came to the house to check us in and made breakfast. Everyone was very attentive and pleasant.

  • Great find. Very quaint and cozy!

    Chelly2015-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • It was great! Beautiful and peaceful just like the add said. The horses and dogs were so cute! Great deck to sit on and watch the sun go down. Accommodations were quiet, clean, and spacious. Slept like a baby! Would definitely go back there.

    Gregory2015-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • It was 40 minutes drive from rehoboth beach. The price was reasonable . I really like the decorations of each room. You can tell the room was nicely prepared for the guests.

  • Sue is an amazing host. Her communications should be a case study for other Air bnb hosts. Everything was crystal clear and the recommendations were great. The property was gorgeous and had all the amenities you'd want for a getaway.

    Jim2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • We booked last-minute but Sue helped us figure out a way to make it work on our timetable. Our vacation was meant to be a chance to relax after several months of crazy work schedules, and it ended up being exactly that. The little kitchen made it easy to prepare food according to our strict dietary restrictions, and fresh coffee made in the provided coffee maker the coffee was a very nice part of every morning. The setting is incredible, surrounded by corn fields and forest. We saw a lot of birds, butterflies, dragonflies, frogs, and lizards, and Sue's two friendly dogs. Being a very shy and private person, I've been nervous about Airbnb, but that was not a problem for us here :) We are certainly hoping to stay here again soon!

    Elle2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sue’s place was the perfect romantic getaway for us. The hospitality she showed us was wonderful. There were so many extra perks that l was not aware of that made the stay just that much more enjoyable. Our overnight stay turned into two days because we didn’t want to leave. Sue’s property is the 4th time we have used this Airbnb site and l must say we loved her place the most. It’s so quiet, private and relaxing. While we were there we discovered that she has a family suite on her property that has 2 bedrooms so we will be returning with the family. I highly recommend anyone that loves nature and fun to stay there. I guarantee you will love it.

  • Didn’t get a chance to experience Sues place, but she was very kind and considerate. Air bnb didn’t add the cleaning fees for the room so the prices listed was lower than anticipated. Not Sues fault at all!! She was great.

    Nicky2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Sue's place is tucked away but close to pretty much anything you could want. She does a good job of keeping you aware of current happenings and is very knowledgeable about the area. Outside shower was very unique and the magnolia blossom she left for us in the place plus the extras offered met all of our needs and then some. We were wanting for nothing. If you like the country it is a grand place!

  • Sue's little barn house is delightful and stylish inside and situated in a gorgeous copse surrounded by active farmland. We were welcomed sweetly by Sue and Rome - Sue really has added all sorts of wonderful touches throughout the space. We enjoyed an evening in the hot tub (including throwing sticks for Rome, of course) and watching deer and turkeys at sunrise.

Sue herself is an exceptional host; she made sure to constantly check in with us, gave us great ideas for trips (and had a book of attractions as well she complied!) and even left us fresh baked cookies! The apartment itself had great details and amenities, including a very well stocked kitchen, a fireplace, a jacuzzi, and many small personal touches! We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this location!

  • Excellent communication and very attentive host. The very large room was filled with everything a person would need including a multitude of snacks. Loved the Rocky TV. Kitchenette included many small appliances - easy to cook an entire meal. The view was absolutely lovely. The only small complaint was the unneutered dog, who was friendly to me but was a bit menacing to my small dog, growling and quite protective of his space.

  • Sue is a wonderful and thoughtful host. Her place was super clean and very quiet. It was a perfect getaway for me and my wife to recharge. Sue is the most gracious host we have met, and her attentiveness to detail made our stay flawless. She even had warm fresh baked cookies and a cold bottle of champagne upon our arrival. • I came to Delaware for a quick business trip and wish I stayed longer. I wasn’t expecting what I got. The property here is beyond peaceful and relaxing. I’m a city girl who loves sand in her feet but this trip definitely made me want to get more in tune with my country side. My dogs were in absolute bliss. Rome, the family dog was very friendly and no where near territorial. My dogs are 3 and full of energy and if you’re a dog person you know when your fur babies are happy! The place was super clean and we will DEFINITELY be returning. I feel like I started this search with a computer stranger and left feeling like a family member! Sue thank you again for everything and all your little perfect touches! See you soon ❤️

  • Beautiful location on a farm in a grove of trees. You can enjoy a walk when you arrive and your dog will love it too. The room we stay in is just a delight to spend time in. We're repeat visitors.

  • You can expect some high technology equipment, including a large flat screen tv, led color changing lights on the cabinet and also a group of android and iPhone chargers. She also houses all the best information in order to have a great vacation such as things that you can do and also places to eat. She also provides you with everything you might need and opens her home up to her guests like it is their own. Sue is very friendly along with her family dog, Rome, and two sons.

  • Sue was a great host. The property was quaint and comfortable - a horse barn conversion was amazing!!! Sue showed amazing hospitality. She was great and extremely helpful and responsive. Kitchen was well appointed and I had everything I needed for meal prep. Rome the resident dog was the sweetest boy ever. The star gazing and peace and quiet. The outdoor shower and tub were lovely, although not very private. Super comfortable beds and plush linens. A downside to our stay was that the hot water heater was broken. Sue could not have been more accommodating, and clearly communicated this to us prior to our arrival. She offered several times to allow us to cancel, but I am glad we did not. We felt rested, relaxed, and refreshed!

  • Sue is a lovely person and provides her guests with thoughtful touches, like a bottle of champagne, home baked cookies, and chocolates on the pillows. It's clear that she loves to decorate, and her place looks like a magazine spread. For guests seeking a relaxing spa weekend, though, a few caveats: The place is VERY full of furniture and knick knacks - to the extent that it is hard to find a place to set your own clothes, suitcase, toiletries, or food. There is no room to sit on the floor or stretch, and it would likely be uncomfortable with more than two adults staying here. Her things are very expensive, no doubt, but it is stressfully cluttered. Things that could be useful - like hooks for hanging towels in the bathroom -- are mostly taken up by hanging baskets and horse-themed decorations. Lovely for a picture, but difficult for a stay. The bed in the master bedroom is nice - tall and comfortable (except the brick-style hard foam pillows), and you can see the stars from bed. But the second bedroom has some issues. The mattress is actually a collection of discarded sofa cushions covered by a sheet, so it would not be comfortable for anyone but a small child. There is a security light right outside the window, so you'll have to close the blackout curtains to sleep. Also, the window was jammed shut so it was rather stuffy. If these things are fixed, it would be a great room for one adult or one youth. I'm not sure how the pull-out sofa in the living room works, since there's too much furniture in the room to unfold it. Two other things to know: 1) The outdoor tub and shower won't necessarily be working, even if the host tells you they are. They are rustic and nice (though not very private), but they were disconnected during the week I was there, despite the host's direct communication that they worked. They were the primary reason I booked here, so I was very frustrated by the lack of accuracy. Honestly, this ruined my stay. I drove an extra hour each day back and forth to my worksite for no reason. I could have just stayed in the local hotel. 2) The host has a policy of charging anyone who visits you $25 for coming on the property, whether they are sleeping over or just having dinner or sitting by the fire pit for an hour. So if you were booking the place with a patio in order to entertain work colleagues or local relatives, this is not the place for you. (The other reason I booked here.) [Also, on the subject of charges, the use of the hot tub is $25/night, with a 2 night minimum, advance notice required.] Again, Sue is a nice person who clearly wants to do nice things for her guests. Her place has much potential, but there are some issues to work out that guests should be aware of before booking. Just know that it's not really a romantic getaway or a spa weekend in the country. It's a mother-in-law flat in the backyard of Sue's house, overlooking a working farm field.

  • Great time!

    Rebecca2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • The house definitely looks better than in the pictures. Very quite although overlooks the main road. The horses are gorgeous. Nice atmosphere in the farm. Room was very roomy and charming. The bed could be more comfortable (too soft for me and my husband). Breakfast was excellent with a choice of pancakes, omelets or waffles. Edna had cooked a delicious zucchini cake. Location is a good 40 minutes from Rehoboth Beach but the last 15-20 minutes is because of the high traffic and the red lights.

  • We had a great time at Mom's b&b. The setting was beautiful and serene. The house had all the accommodations we needed plus more. The farm felt like a respite from the bustle of the city.

  • What a welcoming, comfortable place. We wish that we'd booked more than just one night as it was right up our street and such a great location - in the middle of a horsey wonderland. The farmer's market just up the road was perfect for provisions (some of the sweetest tasting strawberries ever!) and beautiful walks and runs. Bliss! A totally unexpected and added bonus was the delicious breakfast cooked for us the following morning. Great wifi - which when you're on a road trip is really helpful as data roaming from abroad costs the earth. Would definitely recommend and stay here again in a heartbeat.

    Richard2015-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our stay here. Edna, the housekeeper on site, showed up to make us breakfast each morning of our stay. Fresh towels were provided each morning and the bed was made after we left. Our room was very spacious and there was lots of common space in the home to use. Overall, we felt very comfortable and welcomed. The horse farm was lovely. We enjoyed the beach, the boardwalk and the Dogfish Head Brewery during our stay, each about a 20 minute drive or so.

    Melissa2014-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Mom's Place. Our bedroom was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. Having access to the entire house was very nice. We watched TV in the living room one night and we enjoyed the deck where we could watch the beautiful Arabian horses. The location was convenient. The beach was only 25 minutes. We would definitely stay again. Perfect location for a quiet weekend getaway.

    Tess2015-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • If anything, this listing under-stated the charm and welcoming nature of the hosts and the beautiful setting. Cathy and crew made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived at the wrong door. Their working Arabian horse farm is amazing and we were invited to watch the trainers working the horses and given a tour of the barns. Edna makes a mean breakfast!

  • A great time with Sue. It was excellent to be able to bring our dogs, and to let them run around the amazing property.

  • My dog and I had a lovely time in Sue’s and Charles’s family home. Very relaxing and quiet. The studio is an attached wing of the home, which was a surprise, but it was very quiet and peaceful. The street outside the home is a lovely walk, especially at sunset.

  • Her place is very small compared to pictures online ! She lives on site and is watching every move u make... very particular about everything on her property. She was worried about our group whole trip and we never got to fully enjoy anything . There were multiple small groups in and out all weekend and made it very uncomfortable. Was looking for place for baseball group to stay in country setting and enjoy outdoors and thought this place looked great but didn't realize we couldn't make a move without her coming over to our place and complaining.

    Mark2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderfully rustic and serene experience. The forest view, corn fields, lounging outdoors was heavenly. Being able to bring my dog was also helpful. The apartment was charming. The brick wall paper in some areas gave a rustic feel. It had all the conveniences of home and more. The hot tub outside was so nice. The deck off from bed room was the best for doing my writing. For being in the woods I had little or no bother with bugs or other myths said about the woods. My host gave me lots of privacy, but when ever I needed her she was available. All this for such a great price.

  • Wonderful unique space away from the bustle of the Rehoboth strip. Despite a 40-50 min drive to Lewes or Henlopen beaches we seemed to bypass most congested areas and the drive itself was beautiful. We came during the hottest part of the summer so we didn’t partake in the hot tub but the outdoor shower was amazing. Thanks to Sue’s guidebook our family took part in a float tank for the first time, which is incredibly relaxing. The house has incredible views (especially from the top floor) and I recommend it for a quiet getaway. Sue also dropped off a surprise plate of cookies which we polished off in about 10 seconds.

    Jeremy2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place is something out of a fantasy book. We were greeted by the lovely Sue with cookies and a tour. The place had plenty of amenities, kitchen stocked with pots, pans, utensils, and spices. The area accomodated all 7 of our guests. You're surrounded by nature and wildlife. Overall, it's a great getaway.

  • From the moment I booked my stay, Sue was there making me feel I chose the right place to stay. Sue is a super hostess in my opinion. She offered my so many different suggestions from places to eat or things to do. One of the days we came back and there was a plate of cookies and a thank you card for staying. She had a bottle of champagne in the fridge for us. through out or stay Sue reached out to make sure we had all we needed. It was a beautiful and peaceful piece of property. Our accommodations were more that I expected. Sue even took our picture with a Polaroid camera so we could have reminders of our stay. I know we will be back again because of Sue.

  • This charming little barn/cabin is totally unique. The quiet atmosphere, friendly dog, quaint decor (especially for horse lovers) was super cute. Sue was super welcoming and helpful

  • A cozy place tucked in the middle of the woods. The view is beautiful. Susan greeted us with fresh baked chocolate chip cookies for our kids and bottles of champagne for me & my sister. Susan had great communication she responded within minutes. I appreciate her hospitality and I would definitely recommend this gorgeous place to anyone. The outside tub with a shower gives you a relaxing feel where you can enjoy nature. The indoor tub is also great. She also provides binoculars, bird food, with a bird book so that you can bird watch which the kids loved. If you want to relax andbe at one with nature this place is for you. I wish we had stayed longer

  • My girlfriend and I wanted a quick getaway but needed to find a dog friendly place. This was perfect- beautiful landscaping, country setting, cozy interior and friendly host. A very relaxing time- would love to come back. Thanks Sue and Rome the dog.

  • Sue is an amazing host! Always available for any questions, concerns, or just for some good ideas where to go nearby. We loved just hanging out on the property. We went to the pool, hot tub, outdoor jacuzzi and shower. Outdoor jacuzzi was my kids favorite! - there was bubble bath and they can splash to their hearts content. The view from the top porch is really special. The house is cute and has lots of extras. Thank you Sue for making this a really amazing vacation!!

  • the 2 bedroom apartment was great for our 1 night stay on our way back to NY from OBX. it broke up the ride, was WAY better than staying at a motel, was clean, comfortable beds, and a bottle of champagne even greeted us in the kitchen when we got in. Sue's dog Rome was adorable and my niece loved playing fetch the next morning.

  • I was born in Delaware and now live in Austin. I've been going to Delaware Beaches every Summer of my life. It was so nice to return this year on a last minute trip. I'm so glad I found Mom's Place! We arrived in the evening to a filed of beautiful horses... the place was breathtaking! Easy self- checkin/out. It was so nice to wake up in the morning to a homemade breakfast waiting on the table. The other guests staying in the B+B were very friendly, which made for an even more enjoyable breakfast. I suggest this place to couples that are comfortable being both independent and meeting other travelers.

    Jessica2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Although in a secluded area, Mom's Place is along a main route to Rehoboth Beach and other relatively close destinations. It was great to have somewhere quiet to retire, away from the hubbub of beach activity (but not too far), when we were done for the evening and just wanted to sleep somewhere cozy. The breakfast provided by staff was a real treat, too, and sitting out on the deck and watching the horses was very relaxing.

  • This home on a beautifully-tended Arabian horse farm far exceeded our expectations. Catharine was quite warm, and her helpers were extremely friendly and welcoming. We had so much space, privacy and comfort. There were supplies for snacking and cooking, ample indoor and outdoor hang-out areas, and even almond milk in the fridge - I couldn't believe how at-home I felt. I took a jog in the rain past a neighboring produce stand and visited with the freshly born foals in the pastures. It's a wonderful place.

    Andy2015-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • The bed was very comfortable and the place was clean. If you have a sweet tooth, there are candy baskets everywhere. Having breakfast in the morning was great. The breakfast is not served from a menu, but more from a list of what you can expect and I read happy with that. You have a key to your room for privacy. The only thing I would change or like to know is the rules on locking the house at the end of the night. There wasn't coded lock for the house so I was curious on what to do. The area is incredibly safe so that wasn't a worry. Signs and rules posted in the house are just really helpful for me.

    Ethan2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Cathy's place was very relaxing. We stayed there on our way to VA from Rehoboth Beach. It was a great spot to rest. As soon as we got there, Cathy's staff came to receive us. Our room was huge with a comfortable bed. There were chocolates all around the house. The next morning we had a nice breakfast with pancakes, bacon, and eggs, and a warm cup of coffee. After the breakfast, we met Cathy, her staff, and her dogs. Cathy told us briefly about her farm and her staff gave us a tour of the farm. It was really nice to meet Cathy and her team. Walking around the horse farm, learning about the horses, and touching the horses - it all made this a very unique and relaxing trip for us. I recommend staying at this place.

  • This place is awesome. The host adds so much extra. The fridge was full of breakfast items & drinks. She found out my daughter was playing in a sports tournament & got us cases of Gatorade. The location is excellent and the surrounding area is beautiful. If you are going to eat crabs reach out prior and order from them. We paid way more in a restaurant. I enjoyed an outdoor shower & wed love to use the outdoor jacuzzi on another trip back. There’s lots of extras here you won’t find in other ABNBs.

  • This was a very DECEPTIVE listing in terms of bedrooms and privacy. It was listed as 2 bedrooms but in reality it was 1. The "2nd" bedroom was the twin/full bed built above the stairs. There is no room or door. They were renovating a second bedroom but it was no where near completed. On the listing it says 16+ people. There is no way unless they removed all the furniture. She even was going to have workman come over the 4th while we were staying there. It looks more private than it actually is. The barn is right off the patio of the main house. The outdoor shower is located in back of the barn so all her other guests are constantly walking back there. The private patio is a half fence but is not totally private. She has other rentals in the house and those guests were leaning sround the fence and coming over into our space. The picture of the hot tub on the listing is not the hot tub there. The have a half of hot tub on the patio. If you are looking for private this is not the place for you.
