I am a proactive host and I live next door. I can help direct you on the best ways to get around with or without a car. Relax here after enjoying the sights, sounds, art and history. Our beautiful neighborhood is nestled within the cemeteries . Nonsmoking property inside and out. Close to Jazz Fest, VooDoo Fest, Convention Center, Super Dome, Smoothie King Center, French Quarter, streetcar and City Park.
This Shotgun is different than most. The coal burning fireplace is set caddy corner in the front room and bedroom. One room goes into the next so it’s important that your group understands what a Shotgun house is. It has 12ft ceilings and ceiling fan to help beat the humidity and cold central air conditioning. It sits across from the historic Masonic Cemetery where many movies and TV shows have been filmed. New Orleans Shotgun houses are built from the barges that came down the Mississippi River. They used the barge board to build the shotgun houses mostly from cypress wood. This home is currently being restored to its formal glory keeping with it’s original charm. The space is 600sq feet and prefect for two or three people.
Our neighbors welcome well behaved adults that can enjoy a good time without disturbing others. This location is within walking distance to City Park and our beautiful cemeteries. It’s less than 5 miles to the convention center and French Quarter. Just take the streetcar that’s only 2 blocks away. The streetcar can take you to the Mississippi River Walk, Aquarium of the America’s and Harrahs Casino. Stay on and ride it to Cafe Du Monde for some cafe au late and beignets. Then you can walk or get back on the streetcar and head to the French Market that’s just a few more blocks away.
  • Alice was amazing. Her communication was beyond expectations. Prior to arrival she had great tips for the area and updated us on the status of the house. She made sure it was clean and we were well accommodated. Would definitely stay here again! One of my best Airbnb experiences.

  • Great location and host. Have stayed multiple times and highly recommend!

  • If you want to stay several days in New Orleans in a authentic historical house in a quiet area, book this house. Alice is very helpfull, the house is just perfect some meters from the City Park. And Alice gives very good advices for who wants to visit out of official tourism tours.

    Serge2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great, quiet space. Really close to the trolly and a tasty pizza place. Our host was very communicative but also respectful of privacy. Had some issues with internet because of Barry and she fought the cable company to get it going for us.

  • Alice's place is super cozy, clean, and a great way to relax and enjoy New Orleans. She gives you great suggestions on where to explore and is really helpful and super friendly. She made our stay very memorable. Definitely a great place to stay in when visiting Nola. Close to streetcar and some amazing cemeteries. I can go on and on but definitely experience it yourself!

  • This is a great location close to the city park and just a trolley ride away from all that New Orleans has to offer. It’s a serene oasis to come home to after a day out in the city site seeing.

Beautiful Mid-City apartment within minutes of the French Quarter, City Park, Uptown and Metairie. Two bedroom, one bathroom apartment located in one of the city's most beautiful neighborhoods. The pictures tell the real story of how cozy and beautiful this space really is. No matter the length of your stay I assure you that you'll want to stay longer!
  • Good location, away from Bourbon St.. only a few miles. Clean and comfortable.

  • Great find! Kyle responded to all my messages promptly and it was an easy check in/check out process. Apartment was beautiful and very comfy and in a great location! Quick Uber ride to the quarter and it is along the streetcar line. Right next to a cute coffee shop too, which was def a plus! I would def pick this place again. Thanks, Kyle!

The cottage is charming, older-- Not Modern. Beautiful area. City Park, Jazz Fest & Pub. trans. 1 mi. from French Q, wkg dist. to stores, restaurants & bayou. 2 bdrms, 1 bath and a porch. For quiet folks. No parties and sock-feet, please. A pup’s in the yard, so please close the gate. Park between driveways on street, so you're not towed. I am not respon. for the loss of electric power or acts of nature that effect the stay here. No hairdryers. Sorry. If key is lost $50.00 fee. :)
No electric hairdryers I'mm so sorry to say. It blows the "fuse." There are New Orleans touches including a wonderful front porch. The two bedrooms are on the top floor with the bathroom and the bottom floor has the kitchen and living room with a big sofa. The beds and the sofa are quite comfy. I seek gentle respectful guests. No parties, please. I'm a friendly artistic teacher and entrepreneur. My street and neighborhood are beautiful and convenient to many things--even by foot. Street parking only. There's intentionally no television but there is internet so you can stream!
The neighborhood is one of the best in New Orleans in terms of beauty and locale. You're right in the center of everything--- shaded by oaks. City Park is beautiful and is just blocks away. It houses the New Orleans Museum of Art and the sculpture garden that is one of the best in the country. Walking distance (about 4 blocks) are 5 restaurants-- all reasonably priced on Esplanade Ave. There are also two small family-owned grocery in the vicinity. You can take the trolley (walking distance) from the museum to uptown and pass along St. Charles Avenue with the universities and mansions-- ending up downtown and then can walk around downtown or do a return trip. We are one mile from the French Quarter and Frenchman St. Huber or Lyft is best--especially at night. I recommend the free blue bikes for rides if the weather is cool during the day.

    Daniel2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • A really lovely property, good for two people on a budget. We had a issue with the cleanliness, as the cleaner had not changed any of the bed sheets or cleaned the bathroom or kitchen, however I will say that getting in touch with Susan was really easy and she sorted out the issue same day, which was great. Check in was easy and the house was in a pretty good location although we felt getting an Uber was pretty much essential. There is room for improvement when it comes to security. As two female travellers, one lock on the first door didn’t always feel sufficient. Thanks for having us Susan!

    Nicola2018-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Handy space, not fancy but functional. We would use it again and Susan is super easy to deal with.

    Geoff2018-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • Just be aware! The actual door is very hard to lock when you leave and you have to only lock the screen door, which is a bit concerning. Also be aware she rents out the bottom space apartment as well, so you're not technically alone. The units are seperate but if someone is below, just know they may complain about the "ceiling shaking" as these girls that stayed down there stated to Susan. We had just got there and immediately received a noise complaint- so you must be very quiet (which Susan does state). It is very close to attractions and uber only cost us 8-10 dollars/trip to and from the French quarter. It is within walking distance to a very cute coffee shop and other places to eat and even a public pool that isnt too far away. She also has personal belongings in the house so just be aware of that. The place is very cute and my friend and I enjoyed our stay very much! The only problems were those listed above. It was a pleasant experience for the most part and I would definitely recommend this place- If you're quiet. Also know that the "breakfast provided" is true to an extent; she had 4 eggs in the fridge for us when we got there, so it isnt really provided (which was fine with us haha). Overall great place! It's an old house, so dont expect everything to be pristine. Would recommend her changing the shower curtain liner after visitors- ours was disgusting lol.

    Karha2019-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • I'm not sure what some reviewers are complaining about regarding the proximity to restaurants, bars, etc. Café Degas and Liuzza are NOLA classics and less than a 10 minute walk. Same distance to Lola which has the best gazpacho you have ever eaten in your life, as well as great paella. There are several other restaurants, bars, a cigar bar, and at least two coffee shops equally close by. Walk to Jazz Fest or quickly and safely bike to everything City Park has to offer. Bike or drive to famous Mid-City restaurants and bars. Only 10-15 minute car ride to the Quarter, CBD, or Warehouse District. A couple more minutes to get to the Freret, Oak, or Magazine Street art and entertainment corridors. Or anywhere else Uptown or in the Garden District. While still enjoying the historic architecture and laid back vibe of an authentic old neighborhood.

    Jay2019-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • The house was great. It was clean and comfortable. Susan was very responsive throughout the trip. It was a short Uber to the French Quarter. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great value.

    Kevin2019-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great space. It really felt like we were part of The great New Orleans culture. The house was charming with wood floors and chandeliers. Grocery stores were nearby as was the French Quarter and plenty of great restaurants. We really enjoyed our time here.

Our Mid-City private unit is 1 block off Canal St and the street car, walking distance to City Park and several other amazing local neighborhood bars and restaurants. A 5-10 minute drive to downtown & FQ or walk a block to the streetcar stop Some notable amenities-Full kitchen, central air/heat, WiFi, LCD television & Cable, Washer/dryer, full bath. Living amenities: Queen bed, futon, linens, towels & washcloths, pots/pans & dishes and basic necessities like toilet paper and paper towels.
Completely renovated half of a "shotgun double" (essentially a duplex for those not familiar with New Orleans), about 650 sq/ft. Our home was built in the early part of the 20th century (c. 1906). Through our renovation, we took extensive measures to maintain the historic nature of our home and fuse with modern conveniences.
Mid City is a great part of town to spend your time in New Orleans because it's roughly a 10 minute drive to just about any tourist attraction you might enjoy (e.g. in the French Quarter, CBD or Uptown). It's a peaceful and quiet neighborhood, and also has some of the best places to eat and visit for entertainment in the city. There's always street parking in front of or near our house if you bring your car, which is safe to leave and there is no cost for parking.

    Alexis2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights during our first time in New Orleans. The location is great - we especially enjoyed walking to the various restaurants and bars. We also really appreciated the local information on activities and tours provided by Glenn. We’d definitely stay again!

    Jennifer2018-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Glenn makes check in a breeze, there are cleaning supplies, kitchen supplies and even an umbrella which came in handy, it rained our 1st night. The streetcar is an easy walk away. So are trendy spots to get a bite. I would reccomend for 2 people, maybe 3 or 4 with an air mattress if you plan to be gone most of the day. Great couples getaway spot.

    Carisa2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Glenn was an awesome host! Extremely helpful in all aspects - gave us multiple lists of places to check or for live music, food, etc., offered to pick things up from the grocery store for us, extremely flexible about check-in/check-out. Airbnb was in a great neigborhood with plenty of local spots to check out but also only a short uber ride to French quarter and other exciting scenes! Would definitely recommend Glenn's place!

    Melissa2017-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and host! Will stay again!

    Stanley2018-12-23T00:00:00Z

License #18STR-11394 Our small studio is attached to the back of our house, is separated by a locked hallway door, and is accessed from the side yard. We are in a quiet, not touristy, historic neighborhood called Parkview, which is close to City Park and Bayou St. John (Jazz Fest). We do not recommend walking to the French Quarter. There are streetcars and buses around the corner that will take you there. It’s also a cheap cab/ride share. And there’s a bike share station nearby.
The studio is small and has a desk, queen bed, walk-in shower, whirlpool, mini fridge, coffee maker, mini-split AC and heat, 30" TV, and a reading chair. The whirlpool heats the water only when the jets are on. Our home is a traditional New Orleans shotgun and is about 100 years old. The studio is an addition to the house. We don’t know when. The bathroom was updated soon after the storm. You are welcome to enjoy our yard space too. There’s a cafe table and chairs, fire pit, and a bench.
Our little neighborhood is called Parkview. Its classified as historical because of the architecture. There’s a mix of home owners and renters, people of all ages, life long residents and newcomers. We make eye contact and greet everyone we pass by, and all of New Orleans is like that. The location is close to City Park and Bayou St. John. We saw an alligator in City Park the other day. The bayou and park are great places to go for a walk or get some exercise. You can get beignets and cafe au lait at Morning Call in the park and see interesting birds. Ours is not a high-density neighborhood, but one can still walk to great restaurants, cafes, grocery stores, shops, and public transit.

Thanks a lot :)

    Caroline2015-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • It was exactly what me and my boyfriend were looking for! Super convenient location, the trolley is just on the block over and it’ll get you pretty much everywhere. It was very clean and had a lot of thoughtful touches.

    Melissa2018-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed staying at Matt's place! It was close to one of the streetcar lines and only a couple miles to the Superdome and French Quarter. We also loved exploring City Park and the nearby restaurants in the neighborhood. Everything was accurately described and it offered a good home base for our NOLA adventure.

    Amanda2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • The host canceled this reservation 181 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

    Mary2017-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is a great place for a couple staying in NOLA. It's a 5 minute walk to the trolley and bus stops and also has some delicious restaurants around it. It's about a 20 minute ride to the French quarter which isn't bad. Overall I would definitely recommend this place. Just be mindful that there is no way of warming up food so no left overs or cooking breakfast. Other then that our stay was perfect. Matt displayed great communication and quickly replied to any of our questions.

    Brieanna2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great! Matt provided us with beer that he made, water, almond milk, and coffee. Since he could not meet us when we arrived he sent us a document with all the information we needed to know for the place. Everything was clean and looked orderly. The bathroom was really nice! It was located in a nice and convenient, you can easily catch public transportation if you do not want to drive around. It also a cheap Uber or taxi ride from anywhere. He and his wife are friendly and willing to answer questions that you might have.

    Marisa2015-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great apartment with nice hosts! Everything went perfectly well and we didn't have any problems. Would recommend to take the street car around the corner to the city!

Recently renovated my house and have an extra room for rent with an attached bathroom. I am very easy going and always enjoy meeting new people. Don't hesitate to ask any questions! This is a quiet residential neighborhood, not the French Quarter. It is peaceful and nice to walk around, plenty of neighbors sitting outside, bars and restaurants are easy to get to.
Private room with attached bathroom. The rest of the house is shared space, perfect for people on the go that need a place to relax. We have a well-stocked kitchen and pantry, fast WiFi, washer and dryer, and cold beer in the fridge!
Great quiet neighborhood that is centrally located, very easy to get around the city in short amount of time. One block to City Park, four blocks to the Canal streetcar line to go downtown, plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance.

    Graziella2015-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Kevin and his roommate were wonderful hosts and made me feel welcome and at home. Their home is in a lovely, central area and the listing is very accurate. Even though I stayed in their living room I found that they respected my privacy and were very considerate. This was great value and I can highly recommend it.

    Joanna2015-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Kevin, Misha, and their sweet cats were wonderful hosts! Our stay with them was lovely. The futon was amazingly comfortable, and the privacy offered by the house made everything very comfortable. We felt as if we were staying with friends. Kevin and Misha are great people, and we're happy to have had the pleasure of meeting them and sharing stories. They were super cool with us coming and going whenever we wanted. It was very easy to get in contact with the hosts and they were very accommodating! The house was very welcoming, clean, and had many amenities. The neighborhood was very nice and very safe, because of this, our vacation was perfectly stress free and fun! I would highly recommend staying here. I know we'll be staying again! Thanks again Kevin and Misha! Ya'll are great!

    Brittany2016-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great hosts in a great location. Kevin and Mischa were incredibly accommodating, making me feel right at home. The house was clean and all amenities were available. They lent me a bike to explore and Mischa even took me out himself for a couple hours to see the nearby City Park, rustic neighborhoods and popular local hangouts. 100% would recommend.

    Michael2015-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place and hosts ! A bit far to walk to the city center but perfect with the great bikes that are provided, or with the buses that stop just nearby. A very good way to enjoy New Orleans !

    Quentin2015-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Kevin and Misha, and all their cats, are wonderful hosts! They were both extremely accommodating and warm (they even picked us up from the airport!), and the layout of their house provides the right balance of ability for socialization and privacy. The neighborhood is fantastic, and everything is accessible by a bike/streetcar combo. Great experience all around!

    India2016-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great experience staying at kevin's home. Very neat and comfortable, steps from city park which is beautiful, and you can get to the french quarter easily with the street car. Kevin and Misha are very nice hosts, i am sure you won't get lost with them=)

Lots of light! Eccentric, unique, modern, beautiful architecture, Large open studio, shared semi private space, really nice air mattress with dresser an desk overlooking looking a beautiful view of city an Bayou st your bedroom is open to living room so it’s more like a hotel Suite. My rm is on other side blocked by curtain so despite being a studio you’ll definitely have your privacy the back of the place is all yours. I only really use half the kitchen, living rm section is reserved for you.
The back of the studio is completely yours including living room, the bedroom can not be seen from front door, like a hotel room suite. We do share a bathroom and I only use half the kitchen to respect your privacy. My bedroom is on the other side of kitchen blocked off by a curtain so their is a lot of space between.
Walking distance to EVERYTHING! Canal st st car line in about five blks up, it leaves from cemetery’s to Quarter and uptown, really nice ride. Two grocery stores, coffee shop an wine bar on property, wrong iron a cool new outside pet friendly bar next door. Bike rentals, greenway that takes you straight to quarter. About a ten min bike ride. I however would not suggest riding the bike back late at night intoxicated it can be alittle sketchy on greenway late at night I would def Uber, Lyft back or Canal st car. Also I work close to Fq so if you need a ride back home around 11pm from the French Quarter I’m happy to pick you up during the week m-fri.

  • Great place at a good price. Chrisat had so much knowledge to share about the surrounding area, and she was extremely hospitable. We had a wonderful experience!

  • Chrisat was such an amazing host! She has such a chill and friendly personality. The location was a 7 minute Uber from the French Quarter, which I loved. The air mattress (which is really like a big full size air bed) was comfortable and exceeded my expectations. She was super helpful with recommendations. She was also just super nice overall!

    Ashley2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • You will not be disappointed! The location of this AirBnB is amazing and the Chrisat will make you feel like part of the family. 10 out 10 for Chrisat!

  • Lindsay's place was exactly as described, and it worked perfectly for our short trip. It was conveniently located on the street car route to the French Quarter and the Central Business District (CBD), and it was with easy walking distance to a number of restaurants. We especially liked its proximity to City Park (the weather was perfect during our visit), with its great museum, Sculpture Garden, Botanical Gardens, and wonderful landscapes. Lindsay also had great suggestions for us about many of the other sights and places available in New Orleans, and she was always easy to reach when we had questions.

    John2015-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Lindsay's Okra Inn for one quick night during a recent trip to NOLA. Lindsay was housesitting, but was kind enough to meet us there and get us settled. The house was nice and clean and Lindsay seemed more than willing to help us find our way around the city if needed.

    Devlin2016-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was my very first experience with Airbnb, and it was great! I stayed in two Airbnb's during my week-long stay in NOLA, and this was the first. The Okra Inn was a wonderfully quiet and peaceful place to stay, and a perfect place to explore parts of mid-city and the park. The streetcar to the French Quarter was a short walk away and super easy to take, but I rented a bike, which was the perfect way to get around the city from the inn. Lindsay was super generous in letting me drop off my bags in the morning on my first day (my flight got in by 10am), and let me keep them there until I had to check into my second place. The room was lovely and sunny. Chat with Lindsay! She has a wonderfully gentle demeanor and the sweetest dog, Honey! I really enjoyed talking with her and Beth, an Okra Inn regular, on the porch one morning. They both gave great suggestions of things to do in the area and were so fun to chat with. I only wish I got to go on one of Lindsay's swamp tours while I was in town!

    Alison2015-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • It was a pleasant experience staying at Lindsay home. though I reached with a bit difficulty, my rest of the stay was good. Her house has all the amenities, she is very pleasant to talk to and puts her best efforts to make stay comfortable. By chance the lock of her room got stuck, she was so considerate to shift me to other room and gave me one night stay free. Overall it was a wonderful experience at her sweet home.

    Ayushi2016-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful and charming home in such a vibrant part of NoLa! Looking forward to staying with Lindsay in the near future again.

    Laura2016-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lindsay was responsive and courteous. The room was clean and comfortable, I enjoyed the little private balcony as well. Good location, easy to take the street car into the French Quarter which takes around 15 mins.

    Eytan2016-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Okra Inn was my absolute favorite Airbnb experience so far! The house was beautiful and in a great part of town. Lindsay was very nice and accommodating and had a lot of great recommendations for fun things to do in the area. Our stay was basically perfect. We can't wait to go back!

This 600 sq ft cozy mini-apartment is part of a larger cottage. It comes with a kitchen. We’re located one mile from the French Quarter and near Bayou St. John, a gorgeous area. It's a humble sweet space with a bedroom with a double bed as well as smaller room with a single bed. It’s attached to the lgr part of the house, but is separate. Entrance thru alley way to the left of house. Shower is small and awkward. Also, if you’re allergic to cats or dogs this may not be the best apt for u.
The space is humble and bare bones but is sweet and cozy. It’s located in a beautiful area.
My neighborhood is gorgeous with beautiful trees and houses and a nearby bayou. There are also an array of restaurants and small food stores within comfortable walking distance for most folks. There is a nearby bus stop and a trolley as well. Still, nothing is more convenient then having a car or going by Lyft/Huber.

    Laurent2018-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was exactly as I expected, and the host Sue was very accommodating! We enjoyed our stay.

    Jessica2018-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • I thought this location was prettier than the garden district. It was about a $10 Uber ride to the French quarter. There was a nearby coffee shop. These are budget accommodations though. No TV, no WiFi. Had a bit of a rustic feel to it.

    Paula2018-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is absolutely wonderful and in a stellar location. We were happy that it had a full kitchen stocked with pots, pans, etc so that we could cook our own meals. Shower had great water pressure and the hot water lasted long. Plenty of space for two people to comfortably share the two bedroom apartment. Only a short Uber drive (or walk/bike ride if you’re up for it) to the French quarter and many other sights/attractions. There are coffee shops, grocery stores, and restaurants just a short walk from the apartment. The host was very responsive and quickly helped us resolve any issues we ran into which we really appreciated! Would stay here again, 10/10!

    Megan2019-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay for visiting New Orleans. Close to the French quarter not quite walking distance in the heat but if u had to it’s only about 25-30mins walk. Only neg was the height of the shower which is too short for someone over 6ft. Cute place in beautiful neighborhood!

    Sarena2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • The location is great and Sue is extremely responsive.

    Lane2019-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • A bit of the walk from the french quarter. But cafe pagonda (not sure how to spell it) and willy mae’s are both on the way there, so the walk is very enjoyable!

The Bayou St John neighborhood, and more specifically we are near the Fairgrounds neighborhood, is one of the most sought after areas in town due its close proximity to several main attractions in New Orleans. Bayou St John is 1 block away with it's calm, serene water and grassy banks, kayak and paddle board rentals, people walking their dogs, jogging, or picnicking. We may have a kayak for use on the bayou, please check with me. It's a hidden gem used mostly by locals and has a charming walking bridge (no cars) which is amazing for watching the sunset with a bottle of wine. It's another spot that's perfect for people watching before and after Jazz Fest since many people walk across the pedestrian bridge. There is no swimming allowed. Jazz Fest!!! - a lovely 5-10 minute walk past house parties, music, and excited festive people! You'll walk 2 blocks toAccess to all areas except other 2 bedrooms. One is mine, one is a roommate. You may not see him, he is a sweet, quiet comic who works nights. beautiful Esplanade Ave where all the hoopla begins! Be sure and wear your coolest hat, have sunscreen, and you’re allowed to bring in 1 bottle of unopened water. They will look in your bag and don’t allow any alcohol brought in. A brass pass for all 7 days can be shared, and allows you to exit and enter as you like! Makes it great to walk home and nap or recharge. It is always held the last weekend of April and first weekend of May, which can get in the 80’s during the day. You can also buy 1 weekend tickets, or daily tickets online or at the gate )a bit higher). The Fairgrounds Racetrack and Slots - where Jazz Fest is held, the racetrack has it's big opening Thanksgiving day, where locals dress up in their best creative, funky, fancy, or original outfits and hats. (It is not the Kentucky Derby!). There are also zebra and llama races (yes), with live music on occasion. 2020 Mardi Gras is Tuesday, February 25. There are parades leading up to it for a few weekends before. Parade Schedule: https://www.mardigrasneworleans.com/parades/ Mardi Gras parade locales- there is a smart phone app to check parade schedules or checking online sites, you'll see most parade routes are Uptown, extending horizontally across the city, south of us, along St Charles Avenue. These will go down parts of Canal St, near the French Quarter. A good distance on foot from here. One large (best) one is here right by our home, Endymion. Mardi Gras day - getting to the French Quarter and Frenchman St early is great to see all the amazing costumes! Before they start to...fall apart. Best to take an Uber or Lyft. Plan your bathroom needs and intake carefully, therefore your costume! There can be long lines, and public urination is a big no-no. The party all ends at midnight on Bourbon Street, this street closes. Obey the police always. Endymion Parade - a 15 walk to the biggest Mid City Mardi Gras celebration, and one of the best parades of the season! A great, fun day right here. Food, drink, bathroom, and fun. Perfect! Always parades the Saturday right before Mardi Gras Tuesday. There are festivities all day long along the parade route; a few stages and live music, house parties, and people hanging out. It is for all ages! They are very generous with their throws! You can bring a chair (I have a few to loan), find a spot, and sit and people watch if you like! And you have a home base here nearby. There is also a smart phone app to find toilets for 'rent' along the parade routes should you get in a jam! This can be a very important concern; plan ahead and pace your intake! Lines can be long, some places require a purchase to use the facility. Voodoo Fest - City Park is about 10 minute walk! The fest is within the park. Wear a costume or accessorize up and down! And there are lots of Halloween activities around town. City Park - is a 10 min walk to the entrance, and is huge! The famous Cafe du Monde for cafe au lait and beignets is there, maybe 15 min walk. The New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) and the awesome Sculpture Garden are a must see, set in moss covered-trees and little bridges over the waterway running through the park. Feeding the ducks and swans is allowed. Many other activities here; their website has more details. Canoe, kayak, paddle boat, a gondola, and multi-person bike rentals. A lake, frisbee golf, putt putt golf, spring and fall outdoor concerts, outdoor exercise gym and walking paths, stables, great tennis courts, soccer fields, a dog park, and a neat hiking forest. Bayou Boogaloo - held in the spring along the banks of Bayou St John, this amazing live music, arts, and food festival has grown larger every year! It is still free to the public, and you'll see the bayou filled with creative boats, flotation devices, and a few man-made temporary islands! 5-10 min walk to the beginning of the bayou, about a 10-15 min scenic walk from here to the festival grounds and stages. Several restaurants and eclectic coffee shops, a wine shop/bar, two local friendly grocery shops, an upscale salon and bike rentals are 2-3 blocks away. A bit further are many more restaurants, an iconic ice-cream parlor, snow-ball stand, laundromat, more grocery, post office, urgent care, and more, all nearby. Several great neighborhood bars to watch sports or enjoy trivia nights. Audubon Park and Zoo - Uptown, 4.5 miles from here, 35 mins by bike. 18 mins by car. Is a wonderful zoo with animals in natural-themed habitats. Great Cajun and alligator/swamp exhibit! The park is huge and absolutely beautiful, and has a large golf course. Is near the university campuses, Tulane and Loyola.

The apt. is also just 2 blocks from the Carrollton Street car line that can bring you anywhere from the Lower Garden District to the French Quarter where you can find yourself on Frenchmen St. to hear some local jazz!

  • Tout s'est très bien passé chez Mark et Sara. La localisation est parfaite quand on a un animal car le City Park est juste à côté.

    Hadrien2018-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Have visited New Orleans many times and have always stayed in the French Quarter. This time, however, we stayed with Sara and Mark in their lovely apartment in Mid-City across from City Park. It was by far our favorite visit. The location is ideal surrounded by restaurants, grocery stores, drug stores and everything else contained in a "real neighborhood" experience. A real plus is being two blocks from the streetcar line that takes you into the heart of the French Quarter without the hassle of parking etc. A truly great week - thanks, Sara and Mark!

  • Lovely place to stay - the place has a nice charm to it and the area is absolutely wonderful. This is just steps away from City Park which has a lot of lovely Louisiana flavor. Although I was mostly out and about viewing the sights of New Orleans (which is how it should be), I enjoyed my stay here and appreciate the personal effort Sara put into welcoming me here. I would definitely consider this spot again for next time I'm in New Orleans!

    Jaskamal2018-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy and is above average New Orleans flair! The photos do not do this place justice!! Out of the hustle and bustle but close enough to everything!! Mark and Sara are super friendly and allow privacy as well.

    Kim2019-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Marc and Sara’s place was absolutely perfect! It was wonderfully decorated in period decor and the location couldn’t have been better. Being walking distance to local food and attractions was great and the low cost Uber ride anywhere you want to go makes Mark and Sara’s the place you want to stay. Save yourself the time and effort and book your stay at Mark and Sara’s on your next trip to New Orleans. You’ll be glad you did!

    Benjamin2018-05-06T00:00:00Z

Private garden oasis in historic neighborhood one half block from beautiful Bayou St. John. An easy walk to Jazzfest, Voodoofest, Bayou Boogaloo and more. Over a dozen restaurants, two grocery stores, three coffee shops, NOMA/City Park, wine shops/bars/lounges including world famous Pal's Lounge (voted best neighborhood bar) all in walking distance.
This detached apartment was once a smokehouse in the early 1900's. It was lovingly renovated post-Katrina with salvaged materials. We lived in this apartment for three years while we elevated and renovated the main house (a butcher shop). This jewel offers all the comforts of home with a full kitchen and laundry room access.
Quiet, established neighborhood where everyone knows everyone and says "hello". We love Bayou St. John and enjoy sharing it with others. Guests don't even have to leave the neighborhood to experience the best dining, museum, wine shop and record store in the city (not to mention the racetrack). All of this, and still only minutes away from the bustle of downtown and the French Quarter!
  • We had a great experience at Michael and Chad’s place. There were so many little details that made it extra special and a great place to stay. We loved the decor and overall ambiance of the place, the recommendations, amenities, and neighborhood. Would highly recommend!

  • We had a great time, the bungalow feels even bigger on the inside. Kitchen & living is big, bathroom really pretty and cozy loft. Would definitely want to stay here again next time we visit. Bayou St. John is a beautiful spot to stay in New Orleans because you’re still close to everything but it has a character of it’s own away from touristy spots. Also close to street car, city bikes and city park is worth one of your days as well. Thank you!

The location was perfect for voodoo fest- we really tried not to bring any mud back with us.- it was a mess out there. Thanks again!

This bright, newly renovated space has traditional interior detail, soaring ceilings and modern decor with a subtle, local theme. We offer self check-in into your private living room, bedroom and bath. The space is fully equipped with private entry and private bath, queen bed, full size sleeper sofa, reading nook. Ample closet space and a writing desk. For refreshments, you'll find a mini fridge, microwave and coffeemaker. Tech amenities include 4K streaming TV and WiFi. Permit 18STR-14768.
Come on in through your private entrance to enjoy your private double parlor with a large living area, writing desk, and en suite private bathroom. There is also a refreshments bar with a mini fridge, microwave, and small coffee maker. The space is completely private for your use. The owner lives on site in an adjoining apartment in the back of the house, and thus is available to offer suggestions and ensure your comfort.
The MidCity neighborhood is hands down the best place to stay in New Orleans. The Bayou, the Park and the Greenway as well as scores of restaurants and shops are less than five minutes on foot. The streetcar is just two blocks away. Less than 2 miles to the French Quarter, many locals use the rentable blue bikes (three blocks away) to ride to the French Quarter and the Central Business District.
  • The space was really modern and comfortable. It was very clean and cozy. We had a great time.

  • Wonderful accommodations. This was our second stay at this cute little place. It was just as great as our first!

    Marc2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • This space was perfect. It was clean, spacious, private, and everything we needed for a weekend getaway to enjoy Mardi Gras in New Orleans!

    Alayna2019-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is great for a visitor who just needs a place to stay while they explore New Orleans. It is conveniently located on multiple bus/streetcar routes but the neighborhood is astoundingly quiet. Meggan was super helpful even when our flight was delayed and check-in ended up being later than we originally planned. Fridge and coffee maker/hot water boiler were helpful. Bathroom is clean and spacious. No complaints!

    Erin2019-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great location near cool spots, very clean and a very responsive host!

    Rachel2019-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Meggans place is a 5 star Airbnb. I highly recommend staying in this quaint little home that has everything you could need. The home is stylish, clean, and nice and cool (considering how hot it is in the south this is a GODSEND). My fiance and I went down to New Orleans to celebrate our engagement and were blown away at the absolute perfect location. While you are not in the quarter itself you're a short and affordable Uber ride away and we had no problem getting a ride at any time. Midtown has a lot to offer and we strongly encourage guest to check out some of the local spots! We walked to get coffee and donuts every morning, the grocery store is a short walk away as well. We grabbed a case of water and some snacks and we're good to go since there was a mini fridge and little coffee bar right in the home. The bed is SUPER comfy and the shower is spacious and clean. We were equally as excited to go out as we were to come back to the Airbnb and relax. The hosts were super accommodating and always gave us quick responses. If we ever have the chance to come back to New Orleans we will deff be staying here again!

    Sarah2019-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and very comfortable apartment, conveniently located. Lots of communication made me very welcome. It's everything you could want in a place to stay, and I definitely recommend Meggan's place!

    Aron2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • I would absolutely recommend this place and Meggan for anyone looking to stay in New Orleans. Not only is the apartment spacious for 2, 3, maybe even 4 guests, but it is also a really stylish place. The decoration was awesome and we even had some snacks and coffee waiting for us in the room. The place was squeaky clean when we got there and we encountered no problems at all. For those looking to spend most of their time in the French Quarter, I think it's worth noting that this spot isn't really walking distance from there, but it is only a quick drive away! Meggan was very responsive and helpful during our stay. She messaged us with tips and recommendations for places to check out nearby. She was also very understanding of our situation when our flight got delayed and we couldn't check in until very late at night. Will certainly book with Meggan when I return to New Orleans.

Newly renovated, this simple 3-room efficiency on the side of a charming cottage is only a few blocks from City Park and Delgado College in the Navarre Triangle. The private entrance, furnished bedroom, bath, kitchen and laundry are attached to another home in the building shared with a musician and a 1st grader. In a residential neighborhood with easy access to much of the city by car, it's also within walking distance to many parks & playgrounds plus the city's art museum & sculpture garden.
Most notably: 1. The building is a 90-year-old cottage in a residential neighborhood. 2. The resident 2nd grader (here 50%) goes to bed around 9pm. 3. Live and sometimes loud music may emanate from the other side of the residence.
With lots of walkers during the sunset hours, our neighborhood has plenty of children getting used to wheels... Schools, parks & museums abound yet our neighborhood feels relatively tucked-away.
  • I stayed 12 nights at Andrews and it was great. Andrews place is in a very safe neighborhood. I always felt safe walking at nite near his place. It is within walking distance to city park and pjs coffee. Andrew always responded promptly to any texts. I liked having my own parking space and there was plenty of street parking as well. Andrews place is a very affordable place to stay in New Orleans. I took Lyft to the Quarter and it was about 11 - 13 depending upon time of day. Andrew was a great host.

    Susan2019-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew's place was great! Very clean with everything you need for a great stay! I loved that his place had a water cooler!! The location was nice and very quiet. It is a little bit of a drive from the downtown area, but overall not anything terrible. The neighborhood is very nice with great local joints not too far away. The place was very clean and had a rustic charm. Overall great stay!!

  • Great location. Enoyed a nice and quiet neighborhood that's still close to all the attractions of New Orleans. Nice touches like coffee, sugar and cream. Soap smelled great. Plenty of large bath towels and toilet paper. WiFi and treats were a nice suprise. We would stay here again.

    Michele2019-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew is a super nice guy and as a musician is really plugged into one of New Orlean's best offerings. My mother is disabled and he went above and beyond to make sure she was accommodated. Andrew is new to the AirBnB game so he has a few things to learn but we really loved how receptive he was to our feedback so I would expect the few kinks to be ironed out in no time.

    Christopher2019-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew’s place was great. The photos were accurate and it’s in a fantastic location. I would stay there again.

  • Andrew's place was great. Very good neighborhood. His communication was extraordinary and he was always willing to help. He was flexible with the checkin and checkout timing. All together it was a great place and the stay was great.

  • Clean home, quiet neighborhood.

    Brianna2019-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew’s place was quaint and had a vintage feel. All the essentials were there and location was great. However, I did find some cleanliness issues here and there, and there is only a small A/C unit in the bedroom not enough to cool down the whole place, but for bedroom works great.

Carlos and Patrice came to greet us upon our arrival, then Carlos walked us around to orient us to the area. After that, they allowed us privacy and we were free to come and go as we pleased. Charming 100 year old New Orleans duplex on quiet, tree lined street. Tons of street parking. Walking distance to multiple street cars, cemeteries, the famous City Park (and all the park has to offer), biking and walking greenway that takes you to the French Quarter, restaurants, coffee houses, bars, grocery stores, and the new Cafe Du Monde! Plus, the location is really MID-City! Super central to all that New Orleans has to offer. In this spot, the entire city is at your fingertips!
This adorable 100 year old home, that is very clean and has been kept in good condition, gives a true New Orleans feel in a location that can't be beat! Things to know about this old home is that is a rare shotgun style home that actually allows for privacy. While typically you may walk through rooms to get to the next room in a shotgun, this home is set up so that the bedrooms have a bathroom between them and both rooms have access to separate entrances! So privacy and the ability for people to come home and not walk through bedrooms is doable. Enjoy a kitchen that offers all the cooking items you may need for your stay and a big fridge to store all your restaurant leftovers. There is a window ac in every room and they work very well. If one is running in the front room, and one is running in the backroom, the whole house stays very comfortable. The place also offers ceiling fans, portable heaters, antique windows with lots of light, beautiful (non-operational) fireplaces, and a big backyard for hanging out. Come live like a local in the big easy!
This neighborhood has everything you could want within a few blocks! Enjoy our street car options, local coffee shop, seafood joint, and cemeteries within just a 2-3 blocks. A few more blocks will get you to our two grocery stores, and a great part of Carrollton Ave. dedicated to restaurants and bars. Within a mile is bike rentals, a greenway to the French Quarter, and City Park: where you can get Cafe Du Monde and walk the sculpture gardens, visit the art museum, kayak on the bayou, and explore the botanical garden! Outside of this, all other major sites are 4 miles or less and you will find that you can get to everywhere in the city by car or street car. It doesn't get more central than this!
  • While we were not able to make the trip, these folks are the kindest. Thanks to TS Imelda, the roads were not driveable, there was no issue at all in cancelling due to act of nature.

  • You can only expect the best. It was comfortable and beautiful. The high ceilings were to die for & Louis and Carlee gave us great recommendations for food spots. I definitely would like to stay here again on my next visit.

    Tatiana2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • I chose Louis and Carlee's place because of its proximity to my daughter, but even if you don't want to hang out with her, it's a great place to stay. Mid-City is a cool neighborhood with great food and drink options, and it's a 10 minute Lyft ride to anywhere in the city. The apartment was sparkling clean and, a bit unusually for a shotgun style, had a bathroom that could be accessed from either bedroom without having to walk through one of them. They had bottles of water by the bedsides, which was a nice touch, and the window AC units kept the place cool. In fact, we turned them off at night and just had the ceiling fans going. The street is quiet and the hosts are instantly available when needed. For instance, our smoke detector started to chirp and we told them about it as we left for dinner. They'd taken care of the problem by the time we returned a few hours later. We'll definitely re-book the next time we're visiting my daughter.

    Larry2019-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had great time at this lovely shotgun style historic home.

    Ceren2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a true New Orleans experience, stay here! It doesn’t get more New Orleans than a shotgun house. It wasn’t just any shotgun house the ceiling were tall, the place was clean and stylish, and the location was perfect! Close to everything! Highly recommend!!!

Beautiful, newly renovated 900sf one bedroom apartment located near City Park & Bayou St. John. One of few AirBnBs with permit in town. Safe neighborhood. Walk to many restaurants, grocery stores, bars and local shops as well as NOMA & City Park,Jazz Fest & historical cemeteries. Street car stop across the street provides direct access to Historical French Quarter. The apartment is above a local coffee-shop. It has covered balcony on N.Carrollton Avenue where Endymion Mardi Gras parade rolls.
Renovated apartment with high ceilings, central A/C, covered balcony & great central & safe location. It is approximately 900sq ft. Less than 2.5mi./10min UBER drive to French Quarter. Unlike many in town, my place has proper Short Term Rental permit (18STR-04850) from the City of New Orleans.
Safe & historical New Orleans neighborhood. Lots of local shops, bars & restaurants within couple minutes walk. Streetcar stop is across the street. Lafitte Greenway Bicycle Trail is 300 yards away as well as Blue Bike Bicycle Rental station.

  • Newly renovated. Ideal location if you're going to jazzfest. Good neighborhood but streetcar can take a while to get to French Quarter during the day. We had a car and didn't want to pay for parking downtown. Lovely kitchen. Welcome bottle of wine appreciated. Very clean! Easy instructions to get in. Would recommend.

    Nancy2018-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the location; outside city center, allows for having a more relaxed and local experience. Excellent neighbourhood with plenty of services. If you like cooking, the apartment's kitchen is fully furnished. Bedroom has a very good bed but the sofa in the dining area is not the most comfortable thing. However, fully recomendable choice for your stay in NOLA

  • Great place and great location! We enjoyed walking to NOMA and running though City Park. Easy access to street car. Great balcony and enjoyed the cafe. There is some noise coming from cafe... we used a white noise app and had no problem sleeping comfortably.

  • A nice little appartement in a quiet residential area. Jeff and Dee Dee are super nice hosts and gave us good advice no what was happening and where to go for a good time and good food. The tram for French Quarter is very close and convenient. When we had no change for the tram Jeff gave us all his coins. We would try to get the appartment again if we go back to New Orleans!

    Leif F2017-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay in New Orleans! It’s only 10-15 minute drive to the French quarter, so that was really convenient. We had everything we needed! It’s a small space, but it was perfect for just two people!

    Katie2018-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place, thoughtful hosts! They were responsive answering questions, and went above and beyond, even leaving us a stroller because they knew we were bringing out 1 year old.

    Sarah2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • For us this was just perfect. Not more space than we needed on our brief stay. Every thing was clean. Everything we wanted to see and do on our short visit was only a short Uber ride away. It was cute and cozy.

This space is located just off of City Park Ave. We are two blocks from the Canal street car line, and 2.87 miles to the fairgrounds for jazzfest. There are many restaurants, bars, and two supermarkets in walking distance. The street car will take you directly to the French Quarter in about 15 minutes for $1.25 Permit #17STR-08569
You'll have a cozy 1000 square foot space with your own private entrance and exit. We live in a separate space upstairs.
Mid-City is conveniently located to pretty much any area in the city. You can hop on the streetcar or bus and be in the French Quarter or Marigny for $1.25. (It's about 10 minutes away) Taxis or Uber will be affordable to go to most destinations too. The neighborhood is safe. There is a great bar across the street from the house that stays open until anytime between 2 and 4 am. In walking distance there are many restaurants, bars, two supermarkets, City Park, New Orleans Museum of Art, etc. It's really a great spot especially for Jazzfest and Voodoo fest and Endymion during Mardi Gras.
  • The host canceled this reservation 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

    Mark2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Arrival and entry to the apartment was seamless and easy. The location was good, helped by the fact that we had a car. Public transport was close, but we chose to drive rather than wait for streetcars (personal preference). All the little extras - nibbles, coffee, etc. were greatly appreciated, as well as Gretchen immediately supplying a toaster to replace a broken/missing one. We would highly recommend Gretchen's place.

    George2015-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Gretchen's place is cozy but very comfortable. We were 3, and one stayed on the very large couch. We had plenty of room. The kitchen is large, the bathroom is also large and well stocked with plush towels. The laundry room is easily accessible. There was no street noise, and the neighborhood is charming. It is a short walk to the beauties of City Park. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • I fell in love with the Mid-City neighborhood. Great restaurants and bars. Quiet residential area. Fascinating home architecture, both modest and more grand. Loved the brewery a few blocks away. The beautiful City Park and Art Museum are walking distance. The residence is very cute and comfortable.

    Worrick2018-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is perfectly lovely and was very clean and smelled good. There were helpful little notes about where things were and how things operated. There were lovely touches like snacks left out and water bottles in the fridge. I appreciated the bookshelf with varied and interesting reading material. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. There was a number of lists providing information for local businesses we might need or want and directions to public transportation. Our hosts were quiet, but when we needed information, they were quick to respond and very helpful. The next time I am in New Orleans, I will see if this space is available!

    Natalie2015-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • The neighborhood was quiet, Gretchen was extremely responsive to my questions and the place looked just as pictured in the photos. Very clean, she left bottled water in the fridge and we had no problems! Thanks Gretchen!

  • Leonardo was a great host, making sure that everything was going well for our visit. The room and amenities were very nice. The location was in a quiet neighborhood, and near City Park (and the fairgrounds for Jazzfest). It worked out really well for us, and we would definitely go back.

  • Leo and his mom provide a very nice stay for out of town visitors. The entrance is private. The neighborhood is residential, quiet, and close to city park in NOLA. Leo went above and beyond to provide a list of restaurants to visit and a map to the fairgrounds for Jazzfest. The room and bathroom are comfortable and convenient. The Kerig machine for coffee was great for a morning start. I loved the comfortable matress and the large clean bathroom. I would definately stay here again!!!!

    Amanda2017-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • I just got back from a wonderful 4 day visit. Leo graciously offered suggestions for how to make my visit easier even before I arrived and graciously met me on arrival. The property is in a quiet part of town close to beautiful City Park. It's nice to have the balance to contrast with the bustling French Quarter. The room is clean and well appointed, the bed is exceedingly comfortable. The private bathroom is adjacent and very convenient. I was mostly doing other things but the few interactions were all pleasant. Oh, and you get get the most delicious malted milkshakes just a couple blocks away at the Creole Creamery! I'd contact him again if I were to revisit.

  • This is the perfect place to stay in NOLA. We were so impressed from the moment we walked in the door! The pictures do not do it justice. The home is charming, beautiful, and in a quiet, safe, and gorgeous neighborhood. David was great with communication, even giving us awesome recommendations for food, music etc. They allowed us to check in 3 hours early which was so nice and helpful! Some previous reviews mentioned the thin walls, and yes you can hear the kiddos, but they're kids! We had no problems with it (we are also both heavy sleepers). Loved our stay and will recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in NOLA that is quiet and safe.

    Jasmine2019-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great location with access to NOLA without the chaos of the French Quarter. The neighborhood is vibrant and full of options for coffee, food, and history. David was great in providing suggestions, quick to respond, and generous as a host. The apartment is well laid out, stylish with all the amenities. I didn't take advantage of cooking in the kitchen (I mean, why cook when your in New Orleans?), but it was nice to have the refrig, sink, and electric kettle handy. In the listing, David notes the apartment shares a wall with his household and to expect some sound to carry across. This is a fact. I'm use to hearing noise from neighbors (at my home apartment [built in 1920], my bedroom shares a wall with the next house and I can hear their two young children in their bedroom), but the noise level at David's place is more pronounced (although in either case, it doesn't bother me much). I think it is amplified by the fireplaces and the other side of the wall seems to be shared space (possibly hallway and living space) instead of a bedroom, so there is more action happening. This is not to dissuade anyone from this charming apartment with wonderful hosts, but if you are looking to rent a place to "recover" from the previous night and sleep in, you might want to look elsewhere. If you're interested in exploring the neighborhoods, accessing all that NOLA has to offer, and having a delightful apartment be your home base, this would be the place for you.

    Emily2019-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • I came in town for Jazz Fest and this place was perfect. A few blocks away from the Fair Grounds as well as a few bars and restaurants and only a few more blocks from other main city attractions. David and his wife were very friendly and helpful from beginning to end. The apartment is newly remodeled with very clean and modern features. I’ll definitely be looking here the next time I’m in the area.

    Emile2018-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • It was an absolute pleasure staying at David's property! We were warmly welcomed by him and his lovely family (kitty included) and felt right at home. The house was perfect for our needs and absolutely spotless. Close to everywhere we needed and wanted to go and we slept very well when we came home for the night. The neighborhood was very nice and quiet, and we felt very safe. Thank you so much for hosting us for the weekend and we hope to stay here again in future!!

    Krystal2019-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • David’s place was nice, clean and very stylish. The neighborhood was great, I would definitely recommend staying here if you don’t mind being a little outside of the French Quarters.

    Erica2019-08-11T00:00:00Z

Right on the City Park streetcar line is this very private gem of a studio apartment. It's tucked neatly away behind a gorgeous 100-year old Oak tree. Wake up to the view of a funky tree house and singing windchimes from a Bayou breeze. The double red doors open to a freshly renovated guest house, studio, or whatever cool name you wanna give it. You'll have your own entry outside of the Main house and code to get in. We are race, gender, and religion-friendly. Safe. Quiet. Private No Pets.
A newly renovated guest home sits right behind our family home and directly in front of the children's treehouse. It's a home we all love and enjoy with family and friends when it's not rented out. We will do everything we can to make your experience personalized and memorable. We have a comfy trundle daybed that can comfortably sleep two people. Together with the queen sofabed and an air mattress, the lil Nola guesthouse can sleep five people. Please advise ahead of time if you have a large party. Space is approximately 850 square feet. Mini-fridge, Microwave, Mini-Keurig. Old-fashioned, varnished, French Quarter bricks are on the floor throughout the guesthouse. Can't wait to host you! Walking distance to Endymion parade, City Park, Jazz fest, Voodoo Fest, Bayou St. John and NOMA. Don't want to walk, the streetcar passes right in front of the door to the French Quarter and the Mississippi River. Don't want the streetcar, the Nola Blue Bikes are right on the corner for your riding pleasure. This home is steps away from EVERYTHING in HOT, HOT, Mid-City.

  • Schar’s little guest house is the perfect landing pad for any Nola adventure. Right next to public transit and close to destinations like NOMA and Jazz Fest. Would recommend to anyone planning a trip to New Orleans, Schar is quick to respond, had everything we needed, and is a proud Nola native with lots of hospitality and knowledge.

  • Super cute apartment behind the house. Truly in the heart of so many things to do in New Orleans. Walk to restaurants bars in city Park. What a great area. Street car right out front to get you anywhere.

    Yvette2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place was so cute, and in an incredible location! Right off 2 gorgeous tree-lined streets, a couple blocks from the best part of the City Park and St. John's Bayou, and a block from 2 grocery stores and walking distance from a ton of OUTSTANDING restaurants (The Station bakery and coffee shop, Frey's BBQ, Blue Oak BBQ, Juan's Flying Burrito, Neyow's, Vessel NOLA, Bayou Beer Garden, Pearl Wine Bar, etc). It's also right next to a streetcar stop, which was convenient. There is one fold out couch that folds out into a double. It is surprisingly comfortable for a couch bed and we slept on that all week. There's also a single daybed and a single trundle bed. The space is furnished with many New Orleans themed decorations and a small but really great book selection that I enjoyed a lot. There's a microwave and fridge, but nothing in the way of silverware or kitchen supplies, so bring your own fork if you want to heat up leftovers from the restaurant the night before. However, it's right next to 2 great grocery stores so it's easy to pick up supplies if you need them. There's a Keurig coffee maker, and a small desk. There's AC and a heater and we stayed comfortable in there in late December. Schar had so many wonderful local restaurant recommendations and every one we tried was just as great as she promised! Wonderful location, cute space, fantastic host! Would definitely stay again.

  • My family needed to be relocated by AirBnB from another listing, and Lou was able to provide us with a comparable place to stay in New Orleans, within minutes, on short notice. His place is extremely spacious and has all the amenities you would want out of a suite-like setting. The three large beds are perfect and not crammed into a tiny space they shouldn’t be. He also is more than capable of pointing you to local spots, and left visitor guides etc on the dining table. Parking was a plus. We were able to park right on the street every night but there is a parking lot around back too. Even better, the apartment is located on the first floor so the only stairs are the ones in the lobby. City park is minutes away and downtown New Orleans was a quick drive. We will definitely stay here again if the opportunity arises!

    Kevin2019-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I had a wonderful stay at Lou's place. Lou was very responsive. He responded within minutes via the Airbnb app. Check in was a breeze. The apartment was able accommodate my family and I comfortably. Inside was clean, but be sure to bring a couple of blankets, the A/C really pumps out cool air. Lou's place is located in a safe area and conveniently located near the trolley station.

  • Wonderful place for groups or family . It is located right on a bayou and less than five minute walk to New Orleans City Park. This place has lots of building amenities like a pool, grocery store, restaurant, and wine bar! A wine bar! The best thing for me personally is the street car stop even closer to the building than the park! A great way for you to get around and see the city. If public transportation isn’t your thing, Esplanade takes you down to the French Quarter. A 5-10 minute drive to the center of the city. Pick this place if you want to be in New Orleans but not around the debauchery.

  • This place is in an amazing. The Bayou is just across the street along with a rail car and a park. There are great restaurants within walking distance or a short Uber ride. The neighborhood is extremely clean with friendly neighbors. The apartment is clean and spacious. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. If you want quality and value, choose this place.
