Au programme
Navigating the undulating ridge that resembles a dragon's back, we will hike the famous 8.5km trail and be rewarded with stunning views of southern Hong Kong Island and its surrounds.
Then descend through shaded pathways before reaching Big Wave Bay. There one can jump in and have a swim or rent a board for a surf. Perhaps relaxing by the beachside is more your style? Enjoying a nourishing meal and refreshing beverage would be the perfect way to cap off an awesome day!
The trail is of easy/intermediate level. The summer months more testing due to the hot and humid climate, so make sure to bring plenty of fluids and that you're up for the potential challenge.
But don't worry! We have a few options along the way with our route, so can shorten or lengthen the distance if needed. The usual 8.5km route we do takes about 2.5-3 hours to hike (depending on our pace and how often we stop), the remainder is spent mostly at the beach/cafe. It is a 20 minute bus journey with us each way at the start and then also at the end of the trip, finishing back at Shau Kei Wan MTR where we started.
Other things to note
Some closed shoes and plenty of fluids are important to bring. A hat/suncream, swimsuit, some spare clothes and a small towel could be handy too

Embark on an adventure with Rory and his colleague Tristan, both of whom are highly experienced guides having taken tours all over the countryside of Hong Kong for many years.
Born and raised in Hong Kong, before spending his teenage years between HK and Scotland; Rory was never a stranger to the intrepid side of life! Whether it be cycling solo across Africa & Vietnam, sailing to the Artic, trekking in the Himalayas, summiting peaks in the Scottish Highlands or hunting for secret waterfalls in the wilds of Hong Kong, he is always keen to utilise any opportunity to explore.
As experienced travellers, we really enjoy meeting visitors and sharing with them a different side to Hong Kong that many would not think exists.

Rory was a great tour guide and a pleasure to chat with. Unfortunately we hit some fog on the day we hiked so definitely try to look at the forecast before. Rory will also try his best to inform you as well. Nonetheless we had a great time. We are from San Francisco and are used to hiking a lot. For us this was more like a pleasurable walk with amazing views and great chatting with someone who knows Hong Kong very well :) thanks Rory!

Had a grand time although it was just me and Rory. We flew by the 8.5KM trail and finished early, with our pace just right. He made sure I know what we were up to by explaining the routes, where the challenging parts were, and the timings. Really appreciate the whole tour. Would definitely consider booking his other tours next time.
