We are offering a unique, fun and interactive experience. Guests will learn about our gastronomic culture, heritage, and our love of authentic food producing. You will participate in the processing of a mangalica pig. Upon arrival to our organic family farm you will be greeted with a shot of hungarian, locally made "palinka" and "tepertos pogacsa". We will start with a tour of the farm, then we will proceed to the meat processing kitchen where an already butchered mangalica pig will be waiting for production. Laszlo will show the different parts of the pig and guests will learn what kind of meat or food will be prepared from them. He will divide and carve the pig in a manner he learned from his parents. Adventurous guests can participate in this process. You will help to make sausages, which are presidium SLOW FOOD, (currently the only one in Hungary), and prepare local dishes, from the different parts of the pig, with the use of traditional and organic methods. You will learn about curing and smoking in the traditional outside adobe smoker. The meat dishes will be prepared with locally grown organic herbs and vegetables to give the experience of local tastes. At the end, all dishes and delicacies from the pig will be tasted, as we finish with a feast, which will include home made bread and locally produced wine. You will leave our farm enriched, with unforgettable memories.
