Au programme

Want to learn about recording and vinyl records? This is the place! We'll start by taking an in-depth tour of our 7,000 square foot 70s themed recording studio and answer questions about the recording process. I specialize in analog recording but are also well versed in digital recording too. l'll discuss industry trends and how my business formed and has grown into other areas of the music industry. Then we'll stop into our vinyl mastering suite to learn about the first step of how vinyl records are made. We'll get super nerdy and look at grooves under a microscope and talk about the interesting world of vinyl records. We'll also talk about the "Live To Vinyl" recordings I do, which is an ultra-rare way to record music. Our next stop will be into our 3,500 square foot Vinyl Electroplating facility where you will learn all about the second step of making vinyl records. This is super behind the scenes and rarely seen by people outside of the music industry. Our last stop will be in Mara Machines, the world's largest analog tape machine restoration company. You'll see analog tape machines scattered around in various states of restoration and talk about why this company has grown and become so sought after.
Other things to note
Please use our side entrance as there may be a recording session at the time of the tour. Comfortable shoes are a plus, but not required. Photos are welcome, except in a couple areas which will be pointed out.

I'm Chris! My wife Yoli and I own one of the largest recording studios in Nashville called Welcome To 1979. I've been a recording engineer for over 20 years and have recorded some of the biggest artists alive. I specialize in "old school" recording techniques, the making of vinyl records, and restoring vintage reel to reel recorders. Yoli and I have traveled the world teaching people about these vintage passions of ours, so we decided to open the doors of our 14,000 square foot facility in Nashville for a fun and exciting look into the music industry and all things vinyl!

A hidden gem here in Nashville. I highly recommend doing this tour! Great insight to this part of the music industry and is told by the core people themselves.

An incredible experience at an unbeatable price - if you have any interest at all in how music or vinyl records are made, you must take this tour! Chris was an amazing host and answered all of our silly questions, and let us go just about anywhere we wanted to go. From the analog recording studio, which was in use by a real band while we were visiting, to the record mastering and manufacturing setups, and even the vintage tape machine restoration space, it's hard to imagine what could be added that isn't already here. Book this without any further thought!

My husband and I had a blast! It was great to see the behind-the-scenes action and learn how it’s all done. Chris was super friendly and explained things well.
