Ce que vous allez faire

As the Museum of London Docklands closes to regular visitors, we welcome you in for a special late night experience. Join us for a private after-hours tour of No. 1 Warehouse, a 200-year old building which served as the heart of the docklands community during its heyday at the height of the British Empire. Hear the chilling stories of the men, women and children who worked in the docks, and try to keep your cool as we stop off at the most haunted spots in the building. You'll hear stories from London's East End that you will not find in any book. So grab a lantern to guide your way, and take a sip of some complimentary Prosecco to provide some liquid courage as we explore the docks after dark (non-alcoholic drink also available).

Housed in a Grade I listed warehouse near Canary Wharf, the Museum of London Docklands tells the story of East London, and how the area and local community have changed over the years. As well as nine permanent galleries, the museum regularly hosts special temporary shows displays, such as Tunnel: the archaeology of Crossrail. On the evening you will be greeting with refreshments by one of our local expert guides, who will regale you with dark tales of the docklands, before showing you the most haunted parts of the building.

À propos de l'association

Museum of London Docklands

"Standing on our own two feet" is one of the five key strategic objectives of the Museum of London Docklands. We receive funding from several institutions, including the Corporation of London and the Greater London Authority, however, donations allow us to expand our operations and keep our permanent galleries and Mudlarks children's gallery free of charge for the community.

Le montant perçu pour cette expérience solidaire est intégralement reversé à Museum of London Docklands.

Le lieu

The museum building was originally No. 1 Warehouse of the West India Docks. Opened in 1802, the West India Docks were London’s first enclosed dock system, built away from the open river on the Isle of Dogs. During the tour, we will go through some areas of the building which are not usually accessible to the general public.
