Let's have fun & travel to Slovakia! (at least with our taste buds and the best traditional pastry :)
During this online baking class, I'll teach you, step-by-step how to make the most delicious traditional buns in Slovak called Koláče and a sweet braided bread called Babka from scratch
I want this class to be as interactive as possible with YOU being able to bake, learn, and make the most of it. That's why I'll send you a list of ingredients, equipment needed, and a baking timeline right after the booking so you're ready to go once the class starts
WHAT WE'LL DO:
--> We'll start by explaining a bit about the ingredients, with a focus on yeasts as there are certain rules to be followed anytime you're working with yeast-based dough
--> We'll move on with preparing the dough and give it some time to rest
--> In the meantime, we'll work on fillings
--> Last, we'll proceed with filling, shaping, baking, and of course, tasting :)
PLUS: After the class, I'll send you three more traditional recipes that you can make with the very same dough. Yum :)

My name is Lenka and my love for baking goes back to days when I was as a small girl helping my grandma to knead the dough on her knees. There was never a weekend we would not bake cakes and pastries, all from ingredients growing in our backyard.
Beautiful memories of my childhood in Slovakia revive anytime I knead that sourdough, wrap in my favorite fillings, and smell a sweet flavor coming from the oven.

We booked a private class for 16 coworkers as a team building event... and all had a wonderful evening! Lenka is a fantastic teacher. She is remarkably good at leading a unified class among so many people with various baking abilities and tools. She provided substitutions for various dietary restrictions, and came up with recommendations on the fly. I wasn't sure what to expect with so many people on video but Lenka checked on every one of us personally. She is patient, thorough, and funny. My team loved the event and raved about the pastries.
I could not ask for a better host and a better experience. We will be back!

Lenka is truly incredible with beginners and her patience is amazing. She walked everyone through step-by-step, was lovely about technical difficulties in our party, and her directions made DELICIOUS PASTRY. My husband and I had a great time baking pastries with Lenka! The audio and connection quality of the class was great. We enjoyed Lenka's stories about the difference between types of babka and her explanation about different types of yeast. I have zero experience baking successfully, but even I got great results with this class! Now I know how to use yeast and have two great recipes that I know I can bake in the future. I'd definitely recommend this class to anyone, it was lots of fun!
