Au programme
Escape tourist agencies and get to discover Buenos Aires from an anthropological point of view. Don't expect to just walk and listen: be prepared to talk, make questions, taste mate and discuss about the past, present and future of the Argentinean capital.
Beginning in Lezama Park and ending in Plaza de Mayo, this walk offers you the chance to approach this beautiful city from its historical past in an attempt to understand its current present.
Who were the first inhabitants? What happened to them after the Spanish foundation? Why were the British so interested in this shores? What is the deal with Evita and Perón? Where is the African-descendant population? And where did all these white people come from?
This are just some of the many questions we will try to answer in our walk through the most historical part of town.
Other things to note
Curious people are welcome! Come with questions, walking mood, comfortable shoes, your camera and a bottle of water.

Excellent Tour of San Telmo neighborhood and Buenos Aires History! Fluent in English and very personable. Our guide is a highly educated and extremely knowledgeable social anthropologist. Nicolas's familiarity with local and world history helped us to more deeply understand the roots of Buenos Aires in sociological, cultural and political arenas. He shared personal anecdotes that gave us an insight into modern life in Buenos Aires. Very generous with his time and continuously invited our questions, of which there were many! Very open to explaining anything we were curious about. Left us with a sense of deeper connection to our vacation destination. We highly recommend Nicolas!
