Au programme

*Green Dream Tours is committed to safe tours during Covid. We require masks and do most wine tasting outdoors.

After your pick-up, we will head north to cross the Golden Gate Bridge and stop for a photo. The vista from the bridge will give you a bird's-eye view of San Francisco's waterfront and the downtown skyline.

As we head toward Wine Country, I will share a little about California history and the importance of the wine industry.

Our first winery is Peter Cellars, where you'll experience a true boutique winery. Guests are often served by winemaker Peter Mauel, who grew up in the United Kingdom and honed his skills in Burgundy and Bordeaux before studying at UC Davis.

Homewood Winery is a true down-home experience. It’s a quaint and friendly micro-winery nestled in the heart of the Carneros region, producing about 1,000 cases each year.

Lunch will be at Napa's Oxbow Public Market, which features locally sourced food. There will be time to explore downtown Napa and its tasting rooms!

Our last stop is Kieu Hoang Winery, which produces amazing Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs thanks to fog and cool breezes from San Pablo Bay. The winery is noted for its Fish Friendly Farming and Napa Green Certified Land.

*Wineries subject to change.

Note: It's OK to drink wine on the ride back. There is no dress code but we suggest dressing in layers and wearing comfortable shoes.

I love wine and the San Francisco Bay Area. One of the best things to do in San Francisco is wine tasting. To help make that happen for people like you, I started Green Dream Tours in 2008. I hate big-bus tours as much as anyone, so my tours only go to small, boutique and family-owned wineries. My passion extends to finding the greenest wineries in Napa and Sonoma, which lead the world when it comes to sustainable winegrowing. That’s notable and worth exploring! The tours are as green as possible, too. For example, to offset the emissions, I buy carbon offsets. I like to think my tours are more like going wine tasting with a friend, who is also the designated driver, planner and winery encyclopedia. Napa and Sonoma have more than 1,000 wineries so most people need help to fully experience California’s Wine Country.

Destinations

* Robledo Family Winery features the first tasting room in the U.S. established by a former Mexican migrant vineyard worker. A family member narrates the tasting.
* Nicholson Ranch is perched at the intersection of Sonoma and Napa where four appellations meet. Learn how its location helps create amazing wine.
*Bouchaine Vineyards is the first Fish Friendly Certified vineyard in Napa Valley. Amazing vineyard views and wine at this jewel.

Roman was a great tour guide, knowledgeable and humorous, but businesslike when appropriate. Bus/group was nice size, Lunch break in Sonoma was welcome and relaxing from quick paced tour.

The tour was truly amazing. Our guide was very informative and thoughtful. The people who were with us were all friendly. My only complaint is that I wish the event scheduler would contact us in the evening when we were done with other tours. It would have been much easier and nicer to have gotten picked up from where we were staying. We did get dropped off there, thank you.

I booked this trip with my best friends to celebrate my engagement - we were excited when we found this small group tour at such a good deal and the wineries listed on the Airbnb description looked incredible…of course it was too good to be true. Instead of the 6 people max listed on Airbnb, we were picked up by a tour bus with 15 people total (over double the size!), the wineries listed on the Airbnb experience were incorrect (we did not go to Robledo, Nicholson Ranch, and Bouchaine Vineyards and instead went to Peters Cellars, Homewood Winery, and Kieu Hoang and this was never communicated to us beforehand), and our driver Jeffrey Rosen was rude to us. He played loud music on the ride back to SF and could not hear us asking him to turn it down from where we were sitting in the back. My friend had to yell to ask him for the fourth time to turn it down and he said “No “please”? What would your parents think.” We are all young professionals and we never acted unprofessionally on the whole tour (respectful, even quiet, took photos for other groups, talked to the other people on the tour…it made no sense) and he treated us like teenagers. He also gave out complimentary bottles of wines to all the groups to celebrate their occasions at the end and did not give any to my group celebrating my engagement. It was honestly very disappointing. We called Elie to let them know of our experience and he thankfully refunded us 50%.

Loved everything! Our group was fantastic and we had such a good time! Story telling, fun and lots of great wine! Ps: I’m not the kinda person that likes group tours but trust me, this was worth it. :)

This was so much fun. I hadn’t been wine tasting before but this seemed like such an authentic experience and I really enjoyed it
