Find out first-hand what it takes to train like a Synchronised Swimmer!
Long gone are the days of Esther Williams style float patterns and flowery hats. At an average of 40 hours per week, Synchronised Swimming is the 2nd most trained for Olympic Sport.
We'll begin the session with some informal intros and I'll share my experiences of life as a full-time athlete, showing you what it's like to compete at two Olympic Games- including some behind-the-scenes photos of training and the Olympic villages!
After that, we’ll get ready for a 60 minute exercise session where I will take you through a full body Synchro based workout- without even needing to get wet!
The workout will consist of the following components:
- 10 minutes Warm-up
- 10 minutes Mobility work
- 20 minutes Pilates/barre based work
- 20 minutes Active stretching
Finally we can have some time to do a Q&A where you can ask me anything at all about Synchronized Swimming, the Olympics, or maybe you can finally find out how long we really do hold our breath for!
Get ready for a challenging but fun workout with a twist!
Other things to note
This experience is best viewed on a computer/laptop/tablet if possible.
I'm very used to teaching and coaching people of all ability levels so I will make sure to provide variations of exercises for different levels or any injuries you may have.

Hey everyone! My name is Katie, and I'm a double Olympic athlete.
My athlete journey began at the age of 7 when I started synchronised swimming. By the age of 15 I had joined the national team and was fortunate enough to go on to represent Great Britain at both the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Since then, I’ve gone on to coach the next generation of athletes. With over 9 years of coaching experience, I’m passionate about encouraging people to stay healthy through exercise and instilling wellness into every aspect of daily life.

Katie’s class is a nice blend of learning about how synchronized swimming is done (just the right amount) and good Pilates-based exercises. Katie is very patient and are open to personalization of individual participants so they can most benefit from the experience. Katie’s explanations are clear and the pace of the class is just right for me and my friend. Highly recommended.

Thank you Katie for the fantastic moment! I really enjoyed your story as well as Pilates which was well customised for me. It was a great start of a weekend. I recommend this activity for anyone who wants to start Pilates or love Olympics and artistic swimming. When you are learning Pilates from her, you will see how beautiful her posture is. If you follow the movement of her toes as well, you will see you will be able to do artistic swimmer one day :-)

I booked the experience with Katie because I didn't know almost anything about syncronized swimming but I love to see the performances in the pool! I regularly practise yoga and stretching, so I chose Katie because now I am ready to follow an entire lesson and very, very curious about this experience. The result was much more engaging than expected, it was like having a personal trainer for just two of us. A great session of stretching and curiosity: you can ask her any doubt you have about the discipline and she was very generous. Highly recommended!
