Au programme
I invite you to a cultural walk through the Canary village of Icod el Alto, where symbols of ancestral customs that marked the life of the islanders from the 15th century to the 70s of the last century still survive. As in the past, from the heart of the village we will walk part of the Royal Road that connects the entire island, learning about the history of ancient Canary potatoes, the wheat harvest and the importance of water on the island of Tenerife.

Traveler, astronomer, trekking and sky guide, yogi and photographer, trained in rescue and first aid, and farmer. I am a Canary, native from Icod el Alto, passionate about observing the sky in the middle of nature, the outreach of astronomy, yoga and agriculture. I did my PhD in Astrophysics and worked as a professional researcher for 10 years. From the office I ended up at the end of the world, living as a trail guide in Torres del Paine Park for a year. On my return to Tenerife, I dedicate myself to promote the goodness of the island during day and night.

Destinations
Icod el Alto is a small village of the municipality of Los Realejos that has traditionally been linked to potato agriculture. The town is surrounded by the Protected Landscapes of Los Campeches, Tigaiga and Ruíz to the east and west, and the Corona Forestal Natural Park to the south. To the north, it is a balcony to the Atlantic Ocean. The first potatoes in the Canaries were grown in this town, brought from South America in the 16th century.
