Where I come from, food is the expression of love. Growing up South Asian-American, my family expressed their love by making my favorite Bangladeshi sweets or with random surprises of cut fruit. I feel like I'm back at home when I eat in Jackson Heights, NYC's most culturally rich and diverse neighborhood.
I will bring you along with me to 4-6 different types of restaurants within five blocks of Jackson Heights, a neighborhood bustling with locals eating and selling food native to their homes. I will take you to try momos, a type of dumplings filled with spiced juicy beef located at the back of a cellphone store. We will also try some traditional South Asian desserts such as kulfi, a cardamom flavored milky frozen dessert found in ice cream carts. In between dumplings and sweets, we will try Bangladeshi street food, Nepali thali, Indian sweets, and more depending on how hungry you are. The tour is inclusive of ALL the food and can be tailored to meet your dietary restrictions!
My ask is simple - come hungry and open-minded. On my tours, you will not only meet others who love to eat, but have an opportunity to connect with individuals who crave to learn more about the origins of what they eat. I want my guests to leave with a greater appreciation for the South Asian diasporic community of New York.

Ameera was very knowledgable of the history and culture around each food that we tried! She was also a delightful person to talk to and introduced us to some amazing food. Very happy we were able to experience different foods and cultures with her.

Ameera was exceptionally good with her knowledge and information regarding the food spots she took us to. Being an Indian myself, I can surely say that it was an authentic South Asian food experience and she has found some great hidden gems in Queens. She was extremely friendly and made this experience worthwhile for both me and my boyfriend on his birthday. Highly recommend it to anyone wanting to expand their knowledge on South Asian food and culture from this passionate and kind person.
