Au programme

I love hiking! I solo hiked in Kilimanjaro, Himalayas, Fuji, Alps and more. I led a hiking club for over 1 year. Since I like to meet new people and learn about different cultures, I traveled more than 40 countries, mostly alone.

Born and raised in Seoul, and lived in 5 other countries. After I moved back to Korea I realized there are many beautiful mountains here!

We will start from Independence park with Seodaemun prison, independence gate and other memorial monuments.
In Ansan, which is located at center of Seoul, you will have panoramic amazing views of the city. The mountain has easy and fun trails.

In the end of the trail, we will visit an old Buddhist temple, originally built in the Shilla Dynasty in 889. It is the head temple of Taego order of Korean Buddhism. You could enjoy Korean traditional architecture and peaceful atmosphere.

We will take a bus to Yeonecheon market, next to Dongnimun station. The market is famous for its delicious food. Many of the stores were on a popular food show. If you want, you can try some ddeokboki and twisted doughnuts.

Why don't you join us to experience the amazing nature, peaceful temple, historical park and traditional market at the same time?! :)

I was born and raised in Seoul, and I've lived in 5 different countries, USA, Canada, Australia, Russia and Germany. I've also traveled more than 40 counties, mostly alone. I'm happy to talk about Korean and any other culture of course.

I love hiking. I solo hiked in Mt.Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Himalayas in Nepal twice, Alps in Europe and Fuji in Japan. I hike every week and I led a hiking club in Korea for over a year. As I really want others to enjoy Korean nature, I got a license of a tour guide for foriegn guests in Korea. So now I can show you mountains and beautiful temples in my home country!

I don't hike too fast in mountains as I love to feel trees and mountains as much as possible. I like to hike with people so that more people can enjoy it. I'm sure once you hike with me, you'll like hiking in Korea so much just like me!

Destinations

Ansan is located in the center of Seoul where you can have an amazing city view. We will hike and visit an old temple in the mountain. The trail starts near Independence park, so we will walk around the park and see many memorial monuments and buildings before the hike.
After the hike, we will drop by a local market, Yeongchenon traditional market.

Lee was so friendly and such a great storyteller, that the time passed soooo quickly! The views along the way are stunning and she checked at every turn to make sure I was comfortable. The Korean quiz near the end of the trip was also cute and unexpected! I learned even more than I thought I would! Already looking forward to our next outing!

Lee is a wonderful host and I cannot recommend her tours highly enough! The hike itself was beautiful, and she had so much interesting information and history to share. Lee was super friendly and attentive (I mentioned I have some knee pain so she made sure I was okay throughout the hike), we had fun conversations, and she provided some great sightseeing recommendations based on my interests. Overall, an amazing experience which I would encourage any hiking enthusiasts visiting Seoul to try!

I highly recommend this experience!! Lee is an incredibly kind and thoughtful guide. As someone who knew very little about Korean history and culture, the tour through the prison was very insightful. Lee was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of my questions. The hike afterwards was also great, and the temples we visited were beautiful. I cannot recommend it enough!

Overall the entire experience was great throughout! Prior to the hike, we visited Seodaemun Prison museum as it is nearby the station and the hiking location. Lee was quite knowledgeable and explained about the prison's history in more depth. As for the hike itself. this was my first time ever hiking and it was quite difficult, though Lee was quite patient and helped me to reach the peak! I would highly recommend! Friendly and helpful throughout.

This was an excellent tour!! We opted to check out Seodaemun Prison first which is right outside of the station where we met. We learned so much! Warning: this exhibit is not for the faint of heart. But if you’re like me and love to learn about history and culture, definitely don’t skip this. Lee provided a lot of insight into the area and made the most out of the time we had. The hike itself was wonderful and offered amazing views of Seoul. Lee was great at leading me to safe paths as it had rained the night before. As for difficulty, there are a few paths leading to the top which Lee will choose based on your ability. She knew the best spots to take photos as well. I highly recommend this tour with Lee to anyone who loves a good hike and loves to learn!

What a fun and challenging experience! Lee is such a great guide. She is full of stories and was very helpful in helping me when I came very VERY underprepared. I think it’s an interesting and unique experience because many people visiting Seoul might not think Seoul has hiking spots.
