This experience is part of my French Crepes series, everyone knows the famous sweet wheat French Crepes but traditional Crepes are actually brown and made of Buckwheat flour which is naturally gluten free. They're eaten with savoury fillings.

First I will tell you where they come from and how we eat them in a French household and then we will get to making the batter and of course we will cook a batch of delicious savoury buckwheat crepes, also called Galettes bretonnes.

Then I will give you many recipes for different fillings which will allow you to make them with fillings that will accommodate everyone's dietary restrictions and preferences.

Finally, we will make a delicious filling for your savoury buckwheat crepe together. I will teach you how to make a Béchamel (French white sauce), with Ham and cheese or with mushrooms garlic and parsley for the vegan option or vegan ham and cheese.

I can't wait to share this traditional dish with you.

It was very easy planning this class with Chris. I planned this experience for my colleagues and like with any large group, there's always scheduling conflicts. Chris was so patient and flexible when I had to change the class a few times. I am located in New England and he was very accommodating even with the time difference. We have made crepes several times since taking this class. Sweet crepes were all we had experienced before this introduction to savory crepes. Glad to have added this to our rotating menu items we are cooking at home during quarantine.
