*Before you read what we will do i wanted to explain why the tour starts so early, we will be downtown Santiago, the region has around 9 million people, and downtown is pretty busy, we want to be outside of the old town before 8:30 am to avoid crowds.
*La Moneda Palace: Our current presidential office, with an awesome background.
*Paseo Huerfanos and Paseo Ahumada: The heart of downtown commerce (and a quick look to the infamous "cafe con piernas")
*Palacio Larrain Zañartu: Design in Neoclassic style with some political importance.
*Plaza de Armas: The heart of the city. with some important´s buildings, like the Cathedral and the ex government palace.
*Bellas Artes Museum: A must see for art lovers
*Santa Lucia Hill: Due to the covid we will not be going up the hill, i will explain the his
*GAM art center: One of the newest art centers
*Up until this point the experience will go as normal, sadly, because of the protest we might have to skip/end here, the last 3 locations are the "least" historical importance. This is for our security, hope everyone understand.
*The German fountain: An awesome fountain with quite a history of why it was build
*Pablo Nerudas House: The former house of 1 of our nobel prize winner in literature
*Metropolitan Park: An amazing park, the main attraction here is the San Cristobal Hill
There will be a couple of extra places as we walk ;D

I used to work for a walking tour company a couple of years ago, after that i lived in Australia and Canada, improved my english a lot and finished my degree in tourism. I really like history and walking, among other things.
I have lived in Santiago most of my life and i know the downtown pretty good since i had the chance to be in the school in this area too, so, basically, i have roamed around this area for more than 15 years ;D.

Destinations
The tour is mostly outdoors. All the locations in the tour have or have had historic importance and the San Cristobal hill is a pretty good place to do sports, walk or just head to the top of it and take some nice pictures and enjoy the view.

we were so grateful to pablo for being available to take us on this tour. we had never been to santiago and it was the perfect way to get oriented with the layout of the city. pablo was helpful in telling us which areas are safe and which to avoid. we loved learning about the history and gain understanding of the current political and social issues. we were grateful to see different neighborhoods and got a good feel of the style and local culture. we will contact pablo again when we return!

The walking tour was just amazing. He has an extensive knowledge on the city and the history of the whole country allowing you to see many sights from a very different perspective. Further, he made sure that all questions where answered and gave a lot of good tips for further things to see and do in Santiago and in Chile in general. The communication before the experience was great. If you want to really get to know Santiago including it's rich history or just want to see the main sights, this is the perfect experience to book.
