+ Sip on delicious bubble tea
+ Snack at a local bakery
+ Visit the fortune cookie factory
+ Eat a dim sum feast

Our tasty adventure starts in the heart of Chinatown with Dim Sum. Ready to take on the day, we check out the fortune cookie factory and take a peek inside! Next, we stroll down the street of the infamous 10-cent haircut and learn how sailors journeyed here in hopes of the American dream.
But wait, the adventure doesn’t stop there! Next, we’ll check out the oldest bakery in Chinatown, a church that survived the 1906 earthquake, the oldest temples in the USA, all while sipping some delicious bubble tea.
As we approach our final hour, we head to a local tea shop and learn about the role of tea in traditional Chinese medicine with a 30-minute tasting.
Feeling warm, we head to our last stop to learn about the Gold Rush, in the exact spot it all started! Here we taste a local pork roll from one of the oldest restaurants in town.
We cannot run on Mon/Tues.

I have always had a passion for cooking, trying new foods, and discovering new sites and tastes on a good food tour. That love inspired me to create my own food experience company called Stretchy Pants!

Things to note:
*This tour can be hosted by Kara (me) or one of my other well-trained co-hosts.
*Feel free to contact me with any questions or special requests.
*COVID may change our route, but we will always eat the same amount!

But that's not all... Stretchy Pants has other walks on Airbnb, so keep an eye out! Breakfast & The Painted Ladies Food Walk & North Beach Food Walk: Beer & Pizza.

Highly recommend this tour! A great combo of food (you won’t leave hungry, that’s for sure), history and fun experiences - the tea tasting was a highlight.

Hands down the best tour!!! Our bellies were full and we had a fabulous time! From the dim sum to tea tasting to sweet treats, this tour was full of information and so much delicious food. Kara made sure we were taken care of, that we were educated about Chinatown history, that our questions were answered and that we left unable to eat another bite. The food purveyors are fantastic and Kara knew right where to take us. We were transported to another world and Kara was friendly, incredibly personable, patient and thoughtful. I highly recommend!!

The tour China Town opened my eyes to the history of a wonderful culture. Julie started us off at a wonderful restaurant, where we got to try some unique and tasty foods native to China. The tour was never rushed and moved to the oldest fortune cookie factory in the world. We sampled different types of fortune cookies and also learned about the history of art. We visited some other iconic places in the city and ended at a true history lesson on the benifits of Chinese teas. The tea shop was very accommodating and answered all questions while giving samples of exquisite teas. What a wonderful way to visit an iconic area of San Fransisco. Julie is truly a gem of a guide that always kept the tour interesting. I would recommend this tour to all visiting the area.

Enjoyed our time in China town! This is a pretty typical history tour of this area, extremely interesting if it is your first time visiting, maybe less so if you have been before. The food was great, although we were going to burst at the end.
