You will bee the "Beekeeper " and handle the bees just a real beekeeper!
First, you will learn about the logistics, equipment, tools and supplies required, and how
they are applied for the specific purposes of the current season.
I will teach you how to observe the Hives before we open them and prepare you
for what to expect and how to foresee any issues or positive signs of the hives we inspect.
As we enter the hive, you will learn how to apply the appropriate amount of smoke and use the Hive
Tool to separate the frames of bees, then you will learn how to remove the frames from the hives so
we can view them, looking to access the health and current status of the hive(s). You will learn how to
identify the three types of honey bees; the Queen, workers, and drones. You will also learn about Pollen,
nectar, propolis, beeswax, and royal jelly.
You will have a taste of fresh honey, right from the hive (if the bees have enough to spare).
Notes will be made in the record keeping book.
An experience like no other.
