A MINIMUM BOOKING OF 4 PEOPLE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS TOUR
We meet at our offices at 9.00am and enjoy a short historical walk through the palace area and the fish market and the green vegetable market – we taste soparnik (a Swiss chard filled pastry) and typical dalmatian deserts. We go to Stella Croatica where you will enjoy a guided tour and presentation of all the products they make – from herbs, fruits to the many varieties of the vegetables of Dalmatia. This of course includes olive oil and wine tasting. Next, we head to Klis fortress. With panoramic views across the valley and Split city beneath.
We enjoy lunch at OPG Plazibat, a traditional meal that includes a vegetable or chicken soup, a veal peka (a traditional Croatian meal made of meat and vegetables, slow cooked under a cast iron bell and covered with coals – delicious…), prosciutto (local cured ham), cheese, ustipak (deep fried savoury dough that is traditionally eaten with prosciutto and cheese in the hinterlands of Split), and homemade pancakes, everything accompanied by homemade bread and some wonderful local homemade wine.
We return to Split between 15:30 – 16:00.
Other things to note
A healthy appetite and an interest in food and wine is all you need ...

Hi, I’m Baldo, I was born and raised right within Diocletian’s palace in Split. I am very keen to show you all the many fascinating things - including its food culture - that make Split the beautiful city it is.
I’m Tonči and I’m a graduate in English and Russian teaching, but I’ve always been a big history buff ever since I was a child.
Hi! I’m Jadran. I was born in Split and have spent my whole life here. From a very early age I developed a passion for history which led me to study history at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split. There, I studied and broadened my knowledge of local history. Also, I learned to teach and talk about history in a fun and informative way. Besides history, I also received a degree in philosophy which allows me to connect and understand people with different cultural backgrounds.

Such a fun way to learn about a city, by eating your way through it! Our guide, Petra was a joy to be around. She took us through the green market and unique restaurants/shops. Not only did we get to try a bunch of local bites, we learned a lot about the local culture and history walking through town. Loved this experience.
