Private bed and bath for two. Renovated in 2015 with new furniture, fixtures, hardwood floors and HVAC. Beautiful 1883 Queen Anne Victorian in a safe, quiet neighborhood, centrally located to most everything. Possible additional rooms if needed.

NOTE: During the school months of Sep–Dec and Jan–May, we rent long-term to grad students and visiting professors (for just one guest, no couples). Ask about our special rates.

Le logement
The 3rd-floor bedroom is spacious yet cozy with a Queen bed, desk, comfy wingback chair, large walk-in closet and new hardwood floors. The private bathroom has new fixtures and lovely tile floor. You’ll find all the amenities you need, including a blowdryer. If you’re missing anything, please let us know.

Accès des voyageurs
We have a parking space for guests in our driveway (there is no overnight parking in Providence). One of our cars will be parked in the garage, so most likely, we’ll need to coordinate and jockey cars in the morning.

Guests are invited to enjoy our living area, including the kitchen. Feel free to make yourself a cup of tea, store leftovers in our fridge, and reheat food in the microwave. Since we are primarily vegetarian, we ask that no red meat, pork or fish dishes be reheated. Chicken is okay, though. We ask that you do not cook on the stove, unless you are a long-term guest. And please clean up after use.

We’d be happy to share our huge selection of organic teas. If you will need a cuppa java, we can point you to some great nearby coffee shops!

The main living area, including our bedroom, is on the 2nd floor. Our tenants live on the 1st floor. Feel free to come back in from your evening activities at any time, but we ask that noise be kept to a courteous level after 10:00 pm.

We don’t own a TV! But do have free WiFi.

Autres points à prendre en note

Providence, Rhode Island, États-Unis

We live in a beautiful, historic East Side neighborhood that is quiet and safe.

We’ve lived many places, but love this location best because we can walk to the Avon Cinema, Garden Grille, Wildflour, Gourmet House, Seven Stars, Starbucks, Whole Foods, shops on Hope, Thayer and Wayland, and the summertime farmer’s market on Blackstone Blvd. Plus, we have terrific neighbors who are wonderfully friendly and collaborative.

Note: even though it’s safe, no matter where you stay in Providence, do not leave valuables in your car overnight, and especially not in sight at any time.

My life revolves around life with my husband Gary, family and friends...and work. I have a fairly demanding job that keeps me pretty busy, but it's highly rewarding, and I'm lucky to have talented, considerate coworkers. In the past, I've explored ceramics, glassblowing, and weaving, and am most passionate about jewelry-making. My favorite thing is to make things and gift them to the people I love. In 2012, I did three sprint triathlons to prove to myself that I could do it. It was a wonderful experience: there was a lot of camaraderie in our team and I gave me a good excuse to replace my 25-yr old Rockhopper with a new bike! But I'm not a natural athlete and it pretty much wiped me out. So now I'm just happy to get out and do walks or bike rides with Gary or a friend. Travel is a passion – I've lived overseas and continue to explore different countries and cultures. My dream is to go to Bali, Prague, and Nepal. Gary and I love foreign movies, food, and music. One of our favorite experiences was hosting a visiting web developer from the Ukraine for four months in our home. My mother taught me to always leave a place cleaner than when I arrived, so I'd be invited back again. It's been great advice, both in someone's home, and when out in nature. If you see anyone at a beach or park picking up stray cans or bottles, that's us! We eat primarily vegetarian, and try to eat as much locally and organically grown food as possible. We don't cook meat or fish at home, but have been known to occasionally bring home a free-range pre-cooked chicken from the market.

Durant votre séjour
We are very friendly and making conversation is the spice of life for us. We’ve been here for nearly 30 years and have traveled extensively ourselves. That translates into a love of helping guests in their own travels and sharing tips about our magnificent city and state. One of us (RISD grad) works from home, and is (almost) always available to help you navigate.

If you prefer to be less social, please tell us, and we’ll gladly respect your privacy.
