A comfortable king-size bed with quality cotton bedding in a bright, spacious dual-aspect first floor room. Offering wifi, tea/coffee-making facilities and an en-suite (power) shower room. On-drive parking, so perfect for car owners. The historic market town of Berkhamsted, with all its great cafes, bars and restaurants, is a 20 minute walk away. Also a short drive away from Ashridge (Hult) Business School.
The bedroom is one of five in our large, spacious home and is used as permanent guest accommodation. We are a healthy 20 minute walk from the station (30 mins to London Euston or Milton Keynes, 15 minutes to Watford) and so this may suit more permanent Monday-Friday business guests who either need to work locally, or further afield. We are avid travellers and have stayed in all types of accommodation (including many fellow Airbnb homes!) so we believe we understand what you need whilst away from home. Ours is a family home and we take pride in providing our guests with a memorable stay. We look forward to welcoming you! We have an option for a child or extra adult to stay in a single room, so please enquire if this is of interest.
Accès des voyageurs
You are welcome to come and go as you please, though we prefer check in after 4pm, if possible. Tea and coffee is available in your room for convenience, but please help yourselves to breakfast (juice, croissants, cereal and toast) from the kitchen in the morning.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
We have lived in Berkhamsted for 14 years. We're keen walkers and foodies, so we're happy to help you work out walking/cycling routes and to recommend local eateries.
Street lights are turned off after midnight, so please bear in mind that it is pitch dark if you are planning a night out! Best option is to call a cab (Choice Cars: (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)) or to ensure you have a torch if you plan to walk :) The bedroom entrance is accessed on the common shared landing (up the stairs and the room is directly in front of you). The door is lockable from the inside.
You will be given a key to come and go as you please. We're happy for you to return late in the evening as long as noise is kept to a minimum as we have three children who need to get up for school in the mornings (and I commute to London!) Let us know the night before if you'd like juice, toast, croissants and cereal from our kitchen in the morning. We use the kitchen in the evenings between 6pm and 8pm, so it's not ideal for our guests to use it for cooking between those hours (though after 8pm is fine if you'd like to prepare a meal).
My name is Beverley. I live in Berkhamsted with my husband, Stewart, and our three boys. We moved here from North London when our first son was small to take advantage of the lovely countryside and great schools - and to get away from the traffic! I commute to London 3 days per week and Stewart works from home, so we can be very flexible. We love travelling and have stayed in every type of accommodation from tents, camper vans and RVs to cottages and fellow Airbnb rooms and houses - mainly in the UK, Europe and the USA/Canada. We love meeting new people and look forward to welcoming you into our home.
