Firstly, a great experience always starts with a great host. Fleur was such a lovely character with a great sense of humour and was always available when we needed her. She made the experience even better. House was amazing, huge and everyone had there privacy (there were 5 of us), fantastic view of the hills and valleys, and very peaceful. Very nice position to be in, as being so central in the middle of the island, meant we didn't have to travel so far by car to reach any side of the island. highly recommend to stay here, had an amazing time. best wishes Mark
We stayed in Fleur's place for a week and loved everything about it. It's in a little mountain village, Viaradika, which is wonderfully situated for exploring the entire island of Kythira -- we seldom drove more than 15 minutes to see lovely villages and fantastic beaches. Kaladi, a beautiful stone beach to the east, was easily accessible and probably our favorite. There were 10 people in our party -- 3 kids and 7 adults -- and we found that the village-like layout of Fleur's place, with its nicely appointed bedroom suites linked by little courtyards and a main house with two sleeping areas, plus the separate well-equipped kitchen opening out onto a terrace and a terrific view, allowed for just the right amount of privacy and togetherness. Fleur was very accommodating and knowledgeable about the island. Kythira is a great island if you want to experience that famous Greek hospitality without a lot of non-Greek tourists around. There's plenty to see -- not just the main town, Kythira, with its stunning castle, but many little villages with wonderful stone buildings and even a caves with Byzantine frescoes. 45 beaches, too! We got to eight of them.
Fleur's house was really unique and amazing! It was was built with respect of what was there in the past, with local architecture, thick walls, a lot of inside courtyards and hidden corners for everybody. Our kids loved it, they had lots of fun and they thought it was a bit spooky at night. Fleur was lovely! She was very caring and she informed us with brochures and books about all the things we could do around the island. She even brought a lady for cleaning and changing the sheets and towels mid week. I wish we had time to spend more time together and to get to know her because she was really fun! We said we'll meet in Athens! You have been an amazing hostess! Hope to see you soon! Thank you Fleur! Yannis, Chrissa, Zizel, Tassos, Constantinos & Shorena
