Good to meet you! My email signature for years at Ingres, a software firm where I worked in training and documentation, was, "Reality is my guru." I aim to go by whatever choice makes for more kindness and well-being rather than the opposite.
Prior to working in software, I lived and sometimes thrived in academia, earned a PhD at UC Berkeley and taught at several San Francisco Bay Area institutions including UC Davis, Mills College and Haas Business School of UC, Berkeley.
I found the software world far more exciting, innovative and suitable for my temperament than the university. Ultimately, my brother and I co-founded and co-ran a great little company, selling a software platform, Training JumpStart, for firms to run their e-learning businesses.
Now retired in Oakland, at times free lancing, I am often traveling and renting out my primary residence to other travelers.
Ask me about nearby yoga classes and a heated outdoor pool, good local theaters and an established private bookstore.
