You can plan your trip with the following aid from transport for London, in addition I have outlined to my best the directions to the apartment via various mode. Unfortunately the site is not showing the links I posted here, so just (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) your airport and respective transfers.
Remember that London operates on postcodes which are just as important as the street address.
Arriving by the following mode of transportation:
1) Euro star arrive at:
- Waterloo station. Catch the over land train to Charing Cross station and then its a 15min walk heading north or a 8min taxi ride.
- St Pancras Station. Take underground, select Northern Line, go south to Leicester square station, then walk to the apartment.
2) Flying in:
- Heathrow airport. Catch the underground at the airport one line only in to the city. Disembark the train at Piccadilly circus. The apartment is 5min walk.
- Gatwick airport. Catch train to London bridge and then change a line to Charring Cross and there either a leisurely walk or taxi to the apartment.
- Luton or Stanstead catch either bus or train to Baker street or Liverpool street. Then take underground to Piccadilly circus and 5min walk.
- London city airport. Catch the underground at the airport and after a few changes arrive at Picadilly circus.
To avoid the uncertainty of the cost of a taxi as they are hard to predict due to traffic, you might want to consider on arrival booking a chauffeur driven mini limo. These are pre-priced and generally much cheaper than the London black cab. Usual wait time is 5min once booked. Company Addison Lee: website:(URL HIDDEN)
4) Public Transportation:
Points to remember to make you journey as stress less as possible while saving time and money. On arrival in London buy an oyster card which is a top up rail & bus pass. There is an initial cost to purchase the card but this refundable on departure once handed back. This can be topped up as you go so no need to carry coins for buses or trains.
