We did offer very detailed instructions of our to get to our place prior to your arrival (which are pretty simple to follow as it'a all along main roads), we also did let you know in advance that we could not be there at the time of your arrival as we had to go to Lombok but that our staff, Mansur, would be there to greet you in our place. We came home later that day but did not wish to be overly interfering during your stay as we preferred not to disturb you, but were always available for you, living in the bungalow just behind. yours.
I do not believe that the photos represent the property to be beach-front and we have not tried to conjur up that view, there is a map showing the location. It is highlighted as being near to the middle which means you are within easy walking distance of all the best spots on the island and some great restaurants just around the corner. Perhaps you should check your details a little more carefully before booking if you want to be on the beach-front, a few days before your arrival you even messaged me to ask if the bungalow was in Gili Meno, which suggests that you didn't look perhaps as closely at the advert description when booking as you might have.
We bought you brand new towels so that you had nice new towels, never used before, as opposed to an old, worn towels (which many places offer). Sorry it was not washed prior to it's first ever use.
The fruit for your breakfast was bought fresh on the island that morning. James was out purchasing the fruit when you first sent him a message to say your internet was not working. He came over to help you work the internet right away when he got back. We spoke to you about what you would like for breakfast and you accepted fruit again the next day, along-side the toast.
You do have a sink in the kitchen in your bungalow for rinsing your breakfast plates if they are not collected as early as you would like. We did not wish to impose on your privacy too much and you did not alert us to the fact that you wanted them removed immediately? I thought that if keeping the plates bothered you it would be simple for you to let us know as we are only 20 metres away.
The water on the island is naturally salty as this is in fact a small island, surrounded by ocean and that is the water most people use. There is no natural source of fresh water on the island. There has recently been installed a system for generating fresh-water on the island through reverse-osmosis and we are now connected to that and have solar-power heated water for the showers, so that our clients may experience some of the luxury they are used to. One should remember that 10 years ago this island didn't even have electricity, it is after-all a small, tropical island in a developing country.
We offer you free drinking water during your stay (I don't know of any other place here that does that!) but I am sorry, as you rightly point out, it's not chilled.
If you wanted information about activities on the island why did you not simply ask? We are very happy to give any help or information we can. When you met us you didn't mention this, we presumed you just wanted to chill out for the couple of days here as that is the main thing people do here.
Unfortunately, there is noise from mosques, etc. all over Indonesia, in fact the fact that we just have the one mosque on this island and it's not too loud makes it much less invasive than many locations in Islamic countries which have many mosques, very frequently located (I think Gili T has 3). I have to say it never wakes me up and I'm a light sleeper.
It's sad that you did not enjoy your stay and use your experience on Gili Meno to chill out and enjoy a little island life, nothwithstanding the fact it doesn't always carry all the luxuries of home (Website hidden by Airbnb)
