À propos de ce logement
The home is situated on several private wooded acres just outside town. The views are literally spiritual. It is nestled among the pines on your own private ridge. There is a small organic garden that you are welcome to use when food is available during summer months and fall. The home is 1.5 miles from Feather River College and 3 miles from downtown Quincy. Both just minutes away.
This property represents everything I fantasized about when living in an urban environment. Private, several wooded acres and amazing views. We are happy to share this space with others as it has brought so much joy to us over the years. We feel confident you will feel the same. You can hike or mountain bike right out the back door on the many miles of Forest Service trails. We do have framed maps for you to review when deciding on a route. The home is nicely furnished with a well appointed kitchen. Ah, the view. It will take your breathe away! The word "Stunning" is not an understatement. Whether you want a quiet private experience or are a business traveler, this place will work for you. We have hosted both types of guests and all have enjoyed thus far.

Finding the turn off requires a bit of attention. Look for the red mailbox with the address. When you turn off the highway and onto the paved driveway, drive slow as you will be going through my neighbors property and driving right by their house. Follow the driveway and stay to the left of their house. Once behind their house, the road turns to dirt/gravel. Slowly follow that road to the top where it terminates at the house. There is a lock box under the porch light to the left of the door. Guests will be provided with the combination once a booking is confirmed.
You are welcome to roam the grounds and mindfully harvest from our small organic garden when food is available. It is critical that you keep the gate closed as the deer can eat the entire garden in one night. Also, do no turn off any hose spigots as they are on timers which water the garden and other areas. Thank you.

We do not live on the property but regularly tend to the garden and property in general.. It is important to note that with regards to the home, we are totally hands off and will never approach the home during your stay. If you see us in the garden, you are welcome to walk over and say hello. If you are enjoying your privacy we get that as well so no worries either way. If you have any questions, or there is a problem with the home or you have questions about the area, please give us a call. We are happy to assist you with anything that comes to mind. That includes us driving up to the house to go over any aspect of the space you are unsure of.
During the winter months, as we are in the Sierras, we can and do get snow. There is a gravel road leading up to the home. If there is snow on the ground or a snow storm hits during your stay, you will need an AWD vehicle and or snow chains. If it dumps during your stay, we will plow the road with the tractor that is kept on the property. Rain events are much more common than snow however we do get snow. We will address this with each of you during winter bookings. The home has two sources of heat. A gas furnace and a wood stove. During the cold, winter months, you may want to use the wood stove. We can walk you through the process if you have any questions about this. Know however that it is pretty simple and the fire adds to the already romantic vibe. During the summer months as we are in the woods, no outside "camp fires" are allowed as it is simply too risky. We very much appreciate you respecting this! As far as the hot tub is concerned, we realize that many of you rent the home because it has a hot tub. Please keep in mind the following. Quincy is a very rural area in the Northern Sierras. If the hot tub were to break down, it could take a week or two for parts to arrive and for the one hot tub repair person in the county to resolve the issue. If you rented the place because of the hot tub and it is not working, we will issue a $10 per night refund if requested. We simply do not have a crystal ball and are unable to determine if and or when an issue will arise. We appreciate your understanding this and working with us should an issue arise.
- To access the property, you must drive through my neighbors property. PLEASE drive 5mph when when coming and going through their property. As you will see, the road up to our place literally goes right past their home at the bottom of the hill. They are nice folks and the only thing they have ever asked of us is to make sure our guests drive 5mph past their house. Thanks!
- Do not turn off any hose spigots as they are hooked up to timers that water the garden and landscaping.
