Molly was super nice but seemed a bit unprepared as an airbnb host. Which is probably due to she just moved in there herself and is just renting it out so that she does not have to pay double rent while she's till living in her former flat... fair enough. But she probably did not communicate this very well with her other two (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN), one of who contacted me shortly after I got Molly's confirmation, asking me to cancel the reservation, as they only want to sublet this room to female airbnb members. I said, well you should've talked this through earlier, but okay, if I make you feel uncomfortable: just cancel my reservation. Because when I do it, I will lose the airbnb fee of this reservation. They only responded after I wrote them again, saying I would need an answer on that. In the end, they let me stay, but of course I felt unwelcome. In contrast to that, when I arrived, Molly welcomed my very nicely, the flat was very very clean except for the bath room which was just a mess. Tiffany, the flatmate, was very nice but you could tell that she was uncomfortable, however I was away most of the time, so there was not much chance of encounters. The only other bummer was that Molly failed to bring me an extra blanket (to the very thin one I had) for the cold San Francisco nights although I asked her about this three days in a row. I don't freeze that easily, but a person who does would have gotten a cold, as SF can get pretty cold at night. So all in all an experience I look back on with mixed feelings. Also it was a bit my fault not to choose another location after Tiffany wrote me she's uncomfortable but I was too busy preparing my whole West Coast Trip and also not cool with me paying the approx. 90 airbnb fee although they wanted to cancel.
