You’ll love this perfect romantic getaway in the forest with beautiful walks, hikes, and adventure close by. A short 3 blocks to the village center. If you've ever wanted to live in a 1928 "Tiny House" this is your chance. 446 SqFt of coziness. Adorably decorated with vintage and cabin-ish items. Hike to the Waterfall, Mt. San Gorgonio, or just walk through the woods, along the river or just sit on the back deck in peace. Close to Forest Home Camp and back-country driving. NO DOGS NO EXCEPTIONS

Le logement

There are absolutely NO DOGS, PETS, SERVICE ANIMALS, or anything other than human beings allowed. No exceptions. Please don't ask. And of course, don't smoke anything inside. Now that this is out of the way....This is a "super cute cabin", at least that's how friends usually describe it. Park your car and stay put for the weekend. You can walk to the village center and enjoy our only restaurant which often has live music. Definitely every Friday and Saturday. Often on Sundays as well. If you play acoustic, and have your instrument, you could just ask and they'll probably let you play if no one else is. Cute little galleries and shops but the area is famous for it's forest hikes to the local waterfall. If you're coming in the Summer to get out of the heat, the Autumn to enjoy the fall colors, or the winter for a snowy adventure, you'll have a nice and relaxing time. Perfect place to unwind, write your book, or just get away from the hustle and bustle. It's a "tiny house" with 446 sqft of coziness. I love this place and hope you do as well. It's worth knowing that this is an area that can get hit with massive snow storms. Please be prepared. If you have a 4x4/AWD, it might be best to bring that. You will definitely need to carry chains with any vehicle. And unfortunately I will not be able to give you a refund if you can't get to the cabin unless the road.

Accès des voyageurs

You can access everything. I leave food in the cabinet and frig. If you want to eat some, please replace it with some random thing that you think another guest might like. That goes for the beer too. I love beer and look forward to sharing my brews with you and seeing what you might leave. "Feel free to help yourself to a beer when you arrive!" My treat as a "Welcome to Your Cabin" gift. You can drink additional beer but please replace it with at least as many of any type you like.

Échanges avec les voyageurs

If you need anything or have any concerns about anything at all, send me a note, and I'll respond right away. I do not live there so you have the place to yourself.

Autres remarques

Snow and Kitchen:
The kitchen is stocked with a moderate supply of cookware. It's enough. But if you are planing to do elaborate cooking,...well, this is a tiny cabin and space is limited. If this is a concern, drop me a note and I'd be happy to go over exactly everything that is there. I've only had 2 complaints about this. I didn't have a fish poacher. Most people aren't really expecting a gourmet kitchen in a tiny mountain cabin but I figure that I should mention it in case your plan is to make Boeuf Wellington and Baked Alaska.
Now for the snow: This is an area where snow can be a hindrance or a cause for celebration. Clearly everyone who books up here knows this but as a reminder, there are no refunds because of weather. This is bear country, as is all of the San Bernardino National Forest including Big Bear, Lake Arrowhead, etc. That said, don't leave food outside and definitely don't throw food products outside thinking that it's ok because it's bio-degradable. I haven't seen any bears nearby but they are well known up there...and anywhere in the forest. Same goes for your car. It's just not wise to tempt our furry friends. Not really anything to worry about but it's just best to know the deal if you don't live in the mountains. You'll enjoy the birds, squirrels, and chipmunks. NO DOGS!!! No cats, no birds, no service animals, no creatures other than human beings. Please don't even ask for an exception. Of course there is no smoking inside the cabin. It is best to not even smoke outside as this is such a fire sensitive area. Here are some details regarding the weather and getting up there and out of there...especially in the snow. As with any cabin in the mountains, snow can come in unexpectedly. It is recommended that you carry tire chains/cables and drive an AWD/4x4 anytime that you come to the snow whether it be my cabin or anywhere else on the mountain. Many guests love the fact that there might be snow and come for that reason. I cannot offer refunds based on the weather or your ability to get up here. You'll also need to be prepared to leave as well. As much fun as it is to get "snowed in", there may very well be a guest waiting to arrive. I'm always happy to extend stays but you would need to verify that the extra time is available on the AirBnB website. That said, have fun if it does snow!!! This is one of the only fully "permitted and licensed" rental units in Forest Falls (required by the County of San Bernardino) so sleep well knowing that you are in a legal short-term rental. :-)

MG’s cabin completely embraced the true feeling of a, “relaxed getaway”.  Be it the 1950s décor or the removal of cell phone coverage, slipping away from the outside world came naturally the moment we stepped through the door.  It was the fresh air pushing through the fading leaves of brown and yellow that served as the constant reminder that we had escaped the city and were free to enjoy all that the surrounding nature had to offer.  The interior of the cabin was cozy and perfectly situated, creating an intimate space to reconnect away from constant distractions.  The small seating area behind the cabin offered a multitude of views that changed as the sun rolled its way through the cloudless sky: from sipping hot apple cider under a blanket and watching the night sky freckled with bright stars to welcoming the morning light with a coffee as it slowly reached across the peaks in the near distance, it is difficult to decide which porch moment was a favorite.  The short 5-minute stroll to the quaint little town of Forest Falls offered crisp, refreshing mountain air and uniquely beautiful homes dwarfed by the surrounding pines.  You can truly get lost in the beauty of your surroundings, but the mouth-watering aroma of freshly made authentic Mexican food from “El Mexicano” served as a guide.  Moreover, we had the pleasure of listening to a group play live music that had only missed 1 show in the impressive course of 30 years!  If the music alone doesn’t keep you there, surely the carnitas plate cooked to perfection will keep you happily planted in your seat until you’re ready to roll home.  If you choose to indulge in the food and drinks (white wine margarita!) as we did, then perhaps taking a short walk to the Forest Falls Waterfall is your remedy!  The path was accessible and manageable for any age, making it very inclusive for the whole family.  The sound of rushing water washed clear any stress or anxiety that had not already been melted away by the bright sun.  Perhaps there is no better way to describe this trip than a neighboring house’s sign stating we were, “One mile closer to Heaven”.  I’ve yet to think of a reason to dispute a statement like that.

Hi
My name is MG Dobreski and I am the president of Executive Educational Consultants,LLC in Santa Barbara, CA. We work helping to improve schools all over the country and a bit overseas. I have a Master's in Education and love speaking about schools and education in general. I have traveled a decent amount for work, especially to the Northeast, Chicago area, the Western US, the Ohio River Valley, and a few other places as well. I really enjoy racing sailboats, jazz music, and a great meal regardless of whether it is a high calibre restaurant or a hole in the wall. I'm kind, polite, well-mannered, clean, and considerate. I don't smoke and I try to be a very quiet house guest. Favorite travel places include Turkey, Italy, and Baja Mexico. Feel free to write to me if you have any questions about anything.
