Hi there, Our spacious cottage plus lockable garage with 3 bedrooms and an en-suite bathroom, provides a quiet getaway for a family or group and, with the double sofa bed and a supplement, can sleep up to 8 people. Only on AirBnB, it’s an ideal base for walking and cycling (it's on the Etape Caledonia route) with every amenity you need to come home and relax in front of the wood-burning stove.
Tigín (Gaelic for ‘dear little house’) is our beloved family cottage set in the hills at the north end of Loch Tay and with views of the deer in the adjacent Comrie Farm and towards Schiehallion. It is part of an award-winning conversion of an old threshing mill and features a spacious living area with central heating, which we can switch on prior to your arrival, electric piano and a wonderful wood-burning stove. The fully equipped kitchen has two fridges, a microwave, Bosch dishwasher plus a utility room with washing machine.
Upstairs the cottage has 3 bedrooms sleeping 6 plus the double sofa bed increases this to up to 8. The double room has a 6’ wide super king size double bed and en-suite bathroom with shower. There’s a twin room and a slightly smaller kids room with two bunk beds, both of which share a bathroom with a bath and electric shower. The giant double sofa bed in the living area, with its mattress topper and position next to the wood burning stove, is possibly the best spot for a great night’s sleep. There’s also a third toilet downstairs.
There’s a patio in the private rear garden facing west into the setting sun with a bench and garden furniture, plus a BBQ is provided. To the side of the property is an open space for running around where part of the original stone wall is still standing. One thing to note is the small pond on the farm next door, so young children should not be left unaccompanied. For cyclists, there’s access to a secure double garage just in front of the cottage and the Etape Caledonia cycle route goes past the door. If the weather is better suited to staying in, there is a large TV with Sky FreeSat satellite channels, music system, a DVD player and a selection of board games.
We charge a £15 per person supplement for any guests over 6. This is to cover the extra washing, cleaning and general wear and tear.
We only ask that you treat our cottage as you would your own home.
After you leave, we will change the bedding, hoover and clean throughout, but a basic level of home care and cleanliness is expected. We do expect that you will do your own washing up or use the dishwasher while you stay, place all rubbish in the bins provided and leave work surfaces and table tops wiped. We request that any spills, damage or breakage is reported by you before the end of your stay so that we can begin to make arrangements for a replacement or repair. No smoking and no pets please. Maximum occupancy is strictly 8 guests.
We love our cottage in Aberfeldy and we're glad to share it with like-minded people, as long as we can still go! Ask away if you have any questions.
