I never met Ali but his staff is extremely nice, resourceful and ensured I settled comfortably. My expectation of this hostel was low bc its a hostel, but surprisingly, this hostel was very clean, the rooms was big, my room had a little fridge and toaster and imptly, my top bunk was very comfortable. "You cant judge a book by its cover," right? I did exactly that, bc upon arrival, the building was dark as I walked upstairs to the reception area and the neighborhood seemed dirty, but it was not. I just arrived late and it was raining. They even gave me towels :) The morning sun and everyday life was good to wake up too.
The hostel was in the older East side of town, a block from Templehof old airport, where it is one of the lively areas for Berliners, when its hot. It is located in a neighborhood, where there was "flavor", from the food/restaurants to its people :) who lives there.
Overall, the location was perfect for me because the U-bahn, U6 if i remember correctly, and the "ring" was in front of the hostel. This was so convenient, as well because the U6 stops right at Berlin's Center, where all the main big museums are located and Hackescher Market! A full day in Berlin's center is a long tiring day and it was good to hop on U6 to get off and go upstairs directly to the hostel.
Therefore, if your on a buget, need to just crash and not hang out, I would recommend this hostel.
