Enjoy a unique stay in a private loft located on the 2nd floor of our live/work artist loft. Our building has been occupied by practicing artists, sculptors, and photographers since the 70's. We have an art and creative studio on the ground floor. The location is in a great neighborhood, very safe, and and convenient transition location to SF and surrounding areas. One block away from Amtrak. Shared bathroom and kitchen are on the ground floor.
A private room on a 2nd floor loft. The room has been built into and around massive giant steel beams which used to be part of a crane/winch when the building was in operation as a cable factory in the early 1900's. The bed is a custom built-in to the space with a XL-Twin-size semi-firm mattress. A massive steel beam that runs the length of the room is fairly low over the bed, so be sure to watch your head if you are tall! In the room is a small writing desk, a modest library, and a small dresser and clothing rack for storage. There are windows that overlook the ground floor studio with blinds you can close for privacy.
Our active studio is on the ground floor along with the shared bathroom and kitchen. We live above on the 3rd floor loft. Our schedules vary from day to day, sometimes we're out, sometimes we're working in the studio.

We have our own schedules during the day, but can help in any way you need! Don't hesitate to ask. One or both of us may be working in the studio during the day, depending on our schedule. We are very easy to get along with, enjoy meeting new people, but also happy to respect our guest's privacy.
Our space is an open-plan industrial space with very high ceilings, so even though your room is private, sound can carry throughout the space and the building. The majority of the time it's typically is a restful and quiet, other times there could be many different sounds from neighbors, hallways, and the surrounding neighborhood -- this is part of loft-living! You will likely also hear sounds of trains passing throughout the night as we are on the same block as the station.
We are both professional artists who live in the Bay Area and work around the world. We both love to travel, backpacking/camping, art, and music.
We've recently built out a private light-filled loft in our our live/work studio in Emeryville, and are thrilled that we finally get to host it on AirBnB!
We keep our home clean, quiet and friendly. If there's anything you need, don't hesitate to ask!
