Welcome to By the River B&B, a village setting close to Aylmer, a small town, very quaint with a Marina with a great pub. 10 minutes from downtown Ottawa.
The Ottawa River is down the street, you can hear the Deschenes rapids at night. Skiing and hiking and of course water sports.
Gatineau Park is very nearby and trails for walking are behind the house.
You may bring a well behaved pooch. Email me ahead of time and tell me what you plan to do and I will help.
The space is like a small apartment. There are 2 bedrooms, and a bath. The larger room is the main room with television and wifi and a small settee and chair with a table. There are hardwood laminate floors and a large closet to hang your clothes up or place your suitcase, backpacks or bags. There is a bureau in the smaller bedroom to use.

If you rent one room, I would expect that it would be the smaller one with the door to close for privacy, if you rent the whole thing then you can of course use the entire floor. You are welcome to smoke on the patio which is out the back door, but not in the house, please.

I expect to be home when you are, I will try to have some material on hand for visiting the sites and recommendations for restaurants, of course. I have a friend on the next street over with a Bistro. She grows her own vegetables and herbs for her dishes, she is from Europe and takes so much pride in her customers food. She speaks several languages and is very sweet. She is open early and only closes on Mondays.
There is a Tim's a stone's throw from the house, and a Depanneur (French for little store) with beer and wine and snacks.
- There are three little Yorkies in the house but they are not allowed in the guest area. There is a fenced yard for small pets and I would prefer small dogs. The private bathroom has a small shower, might be difficult for a large person to have great shower.

I am an artist, semi retired federal servant, dog lover and Yoga freak. I am good natured, do not smoke, drink little and enjoy my garden. I live beside a church, a little sort of government worker village and the town has a Marina with a decent pub. I love the walking path and the Gatineau Hills are beautiful here. For an additional charge I will provide breakfast and in some cases dinner. All negotiable.
