The cottage (2nd picture) is set in the grounds of our 16th century Manor house (the first picture) in the French national park - Le parc Marais du Cotentin. Open views, good restaurants and dining are all available locally. The cottage has its own garden, ample parking and inside the beamed ceilings and Fireplace make for a very homely feel. Four comfortable bedrooms and large sitting/dining room provide plenty of space. A great place for couples, solo adventurers or families (with kids).

Le logement
Historic Normandy from the Norman builders to the D Day landings is all around you. In 1944 during the liberation the cottage was damaged in the fighting on June the 6th and paratroopers landed just a few hundred yards from the Manor.

Accès des voyageurs
The whole cottage is available for our guests to use. We provide a welcome pack for our guests with: Tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and orange juice and there's a few bottles of beer in the fridge. Breakfasts can be supplied with prior notice and at 5 Euros per person per day (continental breakfast of croissant, bread, coffee, orange juice, yogurts and fruit.) This is payable in cash when you arrive.
Whilst guests can use the kitchen for breakfasts etc there are limited cooking facilities (gas hob, microwave, coffee maker).

Autres points à prendre en note
In the darker months whilst the house is centrally heated we do have a woodburning stove in the sitting room. Initially we have stacked wood for guests first night - this is included within the price. Subsequent nights wood can be supplied at 20 Euros per night being a replenishment of the 1st nights supply. Alternatively guests can buy wood in bags from the local supermarket roughly 6.50 per bag.

A tranquil part of this national park sits all around the hamlet named after our Manor - Founcroup. Little in the way of traffic passes on the lane outside - but within a few minutes guests can be in historic Sainte Mere Eglise or other lovely medieval towns and villages. 15 minutes will have you at the sea - clean long beaches ideal for swimming or sun bathing - or landing an armored brigade!

An historian turned investment broker then turned historian. But my first passion is and always has been history. Coming a close second would be flying - becoming a pilot was a defining moment in my life - as was owning the Spitfire. Living in Normandy for over 20 years amid the D Day drop zones where every lane I drive down has history written in it - from WWII to the Norman conquest - made forming the Tour company the most logical thing in the world. The cottage is where I used to live before I restored the last property on the site - so I have a soft spot for it, and I'm sure so will you.
