This was our first airbnb stay and we had a WONDERFUL time at Grandpa's Cabin! Bill and Rhonda are awesome hosts, and the cabin is beautiful. There was something fun to look at everywhere we turned- they obviously have great respect for history and making old things new again! Absolutely loved sitting by the fire pit both nights and looking up at the stars- don't get a chance to see that many in the suburbs of Chicago! We cannot wait to come back for another stay :) Thank you both!

This place is even better than what you would expect from the photos. The log cabin is on a very nice quiet piece of property, and you will probably see rabbits, deer or other animals in the area. The owners are photographers, and Bill is a master woodworker, so you will see all kinds of examples of their work that are nice to look at, and they add to the ambience. Nearby is the Mississippi, and a great state park, so this is a good location for exploring, as well as relaxing. If you are in the area, I would recommend this location over a hotel.

We were there for four days and Bill was there to make our stay a memorable one. There was something in the cabin of interest at every glance. Very beautiful and peaceful. We renewed many friendships during our stay and left with new friends as well. Very comfortable yet everything from days gone by.

Bill was an excellent host! Unfortunately we, my girlfriend and I, did not meet Rhonda. Bill was a phone call away and was readily available for any help. The location of the cabin really makes you feel like you're out in the country being near the Mississippi River and wildlife all around. With so much history behind the cabin, it makes a cozy and comfortable getaway.

The cabin was beautiful, homey and great for a peaceful getaway! Secluded and private but only a few miles from town. There is wi-fi in the cabin but we have AT&T and phone service was spotty at best both at the cabin and in town. We didn't mind being out of touch during our trip but keep it in mind for finding your way there! Our gps didn't lead us to the right property and I was lucky to get service enough for Rhonda to come to our rescue and lead us the rest of the way! LOL! Wonderful hosts and a wonderful property!

This is an authentic log cabin with tons of charm and eye candy. We were welcomed warmly and then left alone to relax in the spacious cabin, so comfortable from the bed to the shower pressure - all good. Clean as a whistle. Beautiful landscape and just a short drive to Mississippi Palisades and good hiking. Unfortunately no kitchen - just a small fridge and micro. Great airbnb!
