Pass a week away from 'civilisation' in this bunkie on the shore of a 70 acre island - perfect for those adventurous enough to be self sufficient.
Luxury it is not; appliance laden it is not - paradise it is!
Comfy for 2 people - more if bringing a tent.
Lake Nipissing is 3:45 hrs north of Toronto.
It is 44 miles long and famed for it's open horizons with few days going by without spectacular sunsets.

Get away from stress of modern life by glamping in total serenity on a 70 acre nature reserve.
The bunkie is VERY BASIC but it has all you need to camp comfortably:
- log fired stove (for cooking; drying; warming up)
- gas camping stove (when too hot to have the range fired up)
- gas fridge (ice for G&T)
- mezzanine for 2 sleeping bags
- 16x16' deck/platform for dining on....or for pitching a tent (most we have had staying is family of 5)
- screen doors
- outside shower
- 2 barbecues
It is not for people who object to using an out-house.
It is not for people who need a TV or video games.
It is not for people who are bored by nature.
(...hopefully that covers the 'accuracy' tip..?)
Above all else it is a sanctuary not only for you but all the wildlife which call the island home: please respect that.
Hope you enjoy your stay.
Accès des voyageurs
You will be picked up from the marina on arrival and taken to the island, and on departure taken back to the marina. $7/d parking. Maxim can give you a lift in to the marina/town should you need as he goes to town most days (weather permitting)
Obviously logistics on a private island dictate that notification of time of arrival is confirmed as early as possible.
Some basic provisions will be included for guests staying a weekend or more...milk, couple of beers (all the important things) as well as a few nibbles and canned goods...we know you arrive in a panic having forgotten everything.
No wifi, tv, electrics but there is mobile/cellular 'phone reception. There is also a solar charger.

Maxim lives on the opposite side of island, building a cottage which is a 10 minute walk away in case you need anything or get into trouble. He will be very happy to assist you.
The Bunkie has been his Canada home for 3 years so he can help out with anything you need, and point you in the direction for birdspotting, fishing etc.
Supplementary services are available to pre-arrange; meals; drinks & cigars. If you would like to be catered for please discuss with Maxim prior to your visit.
BOATING: If you are staying for a while and want use of the pontoon boat for a day, please ask Maxim re availability. The marina also rents out boats. Please note that a tank of gas/petrol will be charged. Of course there is no charge for the tender to & from the marina. Maxim will also need to guide you where the rocks are...you don't want to be paying for a new prop...!
You are more than welcome to use the canoe. Wear life jackets at all times
