A warm welcome awaits you at the Milton. Situated alongside the River Avon in the Cairngorm National Park, this wonderful retreat is tucked away in one of the Highlands' most beautiful glens. Ideally suited for walkers, whisky tourers, castle-enthusiasts, wildlife lovers and anyone wanting a restful break, the Milton is perfect for a couple of days or more. We are sure you will enjoy the area and the Milton, which we have called home for more than 50 years.
The Milton B&B has two bedrooms available; a double bedroom on the ground floor and a twin bedroom upstairs. Both contain extremely comfortable beds which combined with the peace of being in a secluded glen ensures a peaceful night's sleep for any guest. Both have access to a spacious bathroom (the private shower room can also be available if needed); much welcome after a day's walking in the hills. The large dining room hosts breakfast; a healthy selection of cereals and Scottish porridge, or a hearty cooked breakfast for those with a big appetite first thing.
Tea & coffee making facilities are in each room along with Wifi; a z-bed, travel cot and high-chair are also available. A complementary wee dram of local Tomintoul whisky greets you on arrival; distilled less than half a mile away int he glen, you cannot drink it more locally!

I have lived in the glen for more than 50 years yet I still find out new bits and pieces about our ever-changing surroundings. One of my great hobbies is to share my love of the local area with people new to the area, so I would love to tell you of the best walks, wildlife spots, and other gems. you are welcome to join me and my spaniel (Millie) on a morning walk, but we equally keep well out of your way if you have your own plans.
I have a beautiful spaniel (Millie) who knows the glen as well as I do. If you like dogs, you are welcome to join us on our walks, but if you prefer to avoid her enthusiastic tail, she can stay well out of the way during your visit! However, the accommodation is not suited for any more animals, therefore pets cannot stay at The Milton.

I have just retired after 34 years in Social Work and am now able to really enjoy the wonderful glen where I live. I like to garden and walk my spaniel Millie. I have always loved to travel and was lucky enough to be an air stewardess with BOAC for 5 years in the nineteen sixties. My other hobbies include reading, cooking and seeing my 5 grandchildren when ever I can.
