Ten Random Things About Me
.I have two children, who are now adults. They stun me and thrill me every day. They are strong, talented and compassionate. I feel lucky to be their mother.
.I genuinely like my daughters’ friends. They are very cool people.
.I am not, and have never been, cool. I am OK with that.
.I work alone about 80% of the time, but I love people. In the 20% of my work life that is with people, I am with A LOT of people….public speaking, teaching and training
.When I was 23, I made a conscious choice to commit to a place and not a career path. To date, I have turned down about 13.. 14.. 15… amazing jobs because I choose not to move.
.I have said Missoula is the hub of the universe. While this may not be true, it is true for me.
.I travel for work. I love 2,000 mile road trips that don’t leave Montana most…..and have stayed at all the BEST Motels including The Holiday Motel in Troy, The War Bonnet in Browning, The Stage Coach Inn in Choteau, The Sherman Inn in Wolf Point, The Cottonwood Inn in Glasgow and the Yogo Inn in Lewistown among others.
.At all the above locations, lettuce is white.
.I can do things that few people know how to do. For example, throw a diamond hitch, properly care for a latigo, set a high line and lead a string and create an aversion in small rodents to leather. I am sure these skills will pay off one day, but for now, I am happy just knowing I can do these things.
.I get the greatest joy from teaching… children or adults, future or current teachers… all the same. Sometimes when I go to sleep, I dream about the classroom. While I am not a determinist, I think teaching is what I am meant to do.
