Súper excelente para aquellos que tienen mascotas y buscan un buen lugar donde ellos puedan disfrutar del lugar al igual que sus dueños. Amplió el patio para que se diviertan, la verdad me encanto. Estuvimos todos en armonía.

My family and I enjoyed staying a week in this beautiful house. The photos are accurate – it is really a spectacular space, a remodeled classic courtyard home designed for this climate, with high ceilings, and a beautiful private courtyard with a wonderful pool shaded by some trees. The kitchen and bathrooms are beautifully appointed with modern furnishings. It was wonderful to jump in the pool to cool off in the morning before heading out for the day, and in the afternoon after returning. The location was great - it felt like a very safe area, with restaurants and shops nearby and the center of the old city a short walk way. The two bedrooms have AC units that worked well and quietly. We initially tried sleeping without one in the back bedroom, but were awoken one night by dogs barking and another night by a cat fight nearby. So we switched over to having the house and doors closed and the AC on during the night, and slept peacefully the rest of our stay. The rest of the house does not have AC, but has many windows and doors to the outside that can be opened, and ceiling fans to circulate air. That worked fine for us, especially given the option to jump in the pool any time we were home to cool off. The electric bill came out to something like $35 for our stay, so less than $5 per day, with us running the bedroom AC units at night, and pretty much all the ceiling fans all day. This style of house inherently has one living half outside, which we appreciated. There are gaps under the screen doors that can let in mosquitos (of which there were lots in July); we addressed this simply by putting towels down to cover every one of these gaps. One thing we were not so happy about is that the whole house had a strong chemical smell when we arrived, and that smell persisted in parts of the house and even parts of the courtyard the entire time we were there, despite our efforts to get rid of it by opening doors and windows and running fans. One day we were there, we had a friend over for dinner, and she commented that it smelled like a pesticide that is sprayed against scorpions where she works in Panama. That fit with our observations that the house was strangely devoid of any life forms when we arrived, considering the location in the tropics and the way it is open to the outside. By the end of our stay, a little gecko had established residence in the house, and a few ants were scouting around near the screen doors, and of course, there were mosquitos sneaking in at every opportunity… So, I’m guessing the owner had the place sprayed shortly before our arrival, which may well suit many visitors, but we personally would have rather had the cohabiting wildlife than the residual odor...

Hi Helen. Thank you very much for your review. Despite me asking you several times during your stay if everything was ok and if there was anything we could do to help you never mentioned any issue, you said all was perfect. I find quiet silly that you prefer to live among bugs and mosquitos than a properly fumigated house.
