Lovely comfortable house with everything you need. Especially liked the private garden with lovely views and the owners are very friendly. Highly recommend. Good location for Castle Howard Triathlon Festival!

The cottage at Brandrith Farm is the perfect place to get away from it all. The cottage affords peaceful views across open farmland and there is a large private garden with a table for two where we sat and enjoyed our morning tea and evening cocktails. The cottage was just the right size for two people and had all the basic necessities. The bed was huge and comfy. There are public footpaths that either cross the farm or are nearby, so rambling is easy to do. The nearby village of Welburn has a well-regarded pub and also a combination tea room and bakery, so one does not have to travel far to get a good meal and a tasty bake. Of course, the farm is part of the Castle Howard estate, so you can walk across the fields to their tea room and farm shop. The large market town of Mallon is only eight miles away and has everything you would need, including a large supermarket and specialty food shops, cafes, and pubs. A drive in the North York Moors is only a few minutes away and the city of York is about 15 miles away. What makes Brandrith so special though, is Sara and her husband, Michael. They were available to give advice about local rambles and places to eat. Sara took the trouble to book a table for us for a Sunday Roast at The Fox and Hound Inn in the village of Sinnington--highly recommended! My husband and I enjoyed talking to Michael and his father about their farming operation. They were all so warm, welcoming and friendly. We will not soon forget our stay at Brandrith Farm. I have only one caveat and that is that the WiFi connection is spotty. We found the best place to get reception is sitting on the stairs. :)

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. It had everything we needed for a relaxing stay; great garden to sit and enjoy a glass of wine in the sunshine, looking out over the fields (and for our dogs to play in securely). Sara and Michael were very welcoming hosts on hand to answer any questions about the area.

Hi wifi is very slow here and does work but can be annoyingly slow the same as phone networks as you commented when i met you. I should have mentioned the bedroom has the best signal, sorry if this was a problem for you.
