You'll love our eco-friendly house in the jungle. From our deck you may well see monkeys, sloths, armadillos, iguanas, hummingbirds, parrots, numerous tropical flowers, and if you look closely, even tiny red frogs!
Swim off our dock, relax in a hammock, hike the jungle trails, or perhaps enjoy a yoga session on Magic Island? Finish the day off by watching the sun set over Solarte Island.
We are just a 15 minute boat ride from BocasTown and 5 minutes to Red Frog beach.
Our home feels like a tree house - it's built way up high on stilts, surrounded by trees, so it's great for viewing wildlife and tropical plants.
The house is completely off-grid, meaning that we have a solar system for power and collect rainwater, which we filter for drinking and cooking. We have two showers - one indoors, and one outside in the garden. (The outdoor shower is cold water only.) We do not have air conditioning; however, we do have nice quiet ceiling fans in every room and out on the main area of the deck. The temperature in Bocas del Toro is fairly constant, averaging about 85 degrees year round, so it is quite comfortable.
All of the windows and doors are fully screened to keep insects out of the house but the deck is open, so you may want to bring some bug repellent. After all, this is a tropical rain forest!
