Our place has a view of the lake is only a ten minute walk to the community area where you can have a picnic while you take in the amazing lake views. It's a ten minute drive to town where you can enjoy a wonderful dinner, or visit one of the many antique shops. This location is now great for hunting, ice fishing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, and close to multiple ski resorts as well. You'll love how quiet, cozy, and warm this house is we think you'll really enjoy your experience here.
This is a very cozy home that truly has that lake feel. The heating works great! We have floor mounted electrical units which some are controlled by individual room thermostats or by the knobs located directly on the left side of the units themselves. The fireplace is repaired and fully operational as well! The kitchen has new granite countertops, laminate flooring, and new stainless sink. The knotty pine walls and nature decor gives the ambiance for the house a real lake cottage feel. This is a private community that is well maintained and is very friendly and quiet. Frequent occurrences of deer all throughout this community and on our lawn at dusk and dawn is really exciting and make this location very unique. All the dishes, pots, pans, silverware, cups, and basic seasonings will be here for you to use so you should not need to run right to the grocery store as soon as you arrive. All you need to do is enjoy the home and the endless possibilities of things for you and your family to enjoy. There is a gas grill and smoker on the back deck as well.
Accès des voyageurs
Guests will have access to the entire house except 1 closet that contains our families personal things we use when we are at the cottage. The back shed will be locked as well. There is a basketball net and small asphalt court that can be enjoyed as well.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
We want the guests to enjoy their stay so we would hope the interaction once they are in the cottage will be kept to a minimum unless there is a problem. I have a cleaning person and handy-man contracted to assist if need be but this should only be in an emergency or if something breaks and must be fixed immediately.
Please do not flush anything but human waste down the toilets as it will back up the septic and that will cause major issues. Please take photos and call us if you see any issues with the house and we will get it straightened out. The house is on a well so please be conscious of your water use.
- Number one house rule: leave the house as you left it and treat it as if it is yours as this is somebody's home.
- 25 years of age minimum unless otherwise discussed and agreed upon.
- All night partying and loud noises that can bother or disrespect our warm and friendly neighbors is not allowed.
-No fireworks allowed
- Do not flush anything foreign in toilets or septic will back up.
- There is a small labeled space in the back bedroom closet that contains items for personal use by the homeowners.
-Do not drive on the lawn on either side of the house as the septic and sink drainage lines are located there and will be damaged.
-Fireplace Usage: VERY IMPORTANT
Depending on usage and when Darrin can get back up and split more wood, there may be some the guests can use. If not, there are a few places in town to get it and some is off the side of the road or the grocery store or hardware store should have some as well. We have it stacked to the left of the front steps so it is easy to gather and use. There is also a wheelbarrow on the side of the house you can use to bring up more wood from the back of the lot that's under a black tarp.
Please replace any wood you use on the side of the steps from the back pile for the next guest and also please clean out and unused wood and ashes from the fireplace. There is an ash bucket just to the right of the fireplace and a small shovel as well. You can dump the ashes behind the shed.
There is a new cable in the right of the fireplace that connects to a new flue. It has a little slot the wire slides into to lock it into place to close the flue. Once you release the cable by gently pulling down on it, and sliding it to the right, the flue will open allowing smoke to exit the chimney. Please do not have any fires the day of check out so the pit can be cleaned.
MOST importantly, when the fire is out, PLEASE remember to close the flue so the cold air and animals can't come in the house. You do this by gently pulling on the cable and sliding it into the little slot that is just wide enough to hold the cable.
I know it sounds like a lot but it's all quite simple once you see it and we know you'll love using it!
- Please do not leave any trash on the lawn or the driveway. Anything that may fall out of your car please pickup and dispose of properly.
- Please be aware this is a quiet community and this is why our very nice neighbors live here. Please respect them and keep down any music or noise coming from inside the house as they will show you that same courtesy as well.
Antonia and I are passionate about life and most importantly, family. My family and I love to stay busy inside or out, and we truly love our time on the lake. I do enjoy my job and work in renewable energy and more specifically in the wind turbine industry. Antonia is a licensed clinical therapist in private practice, divorce mediator, and online therapy as well. She is extremely passionate about helping people and trying to make the world a better place.
I was born and raised in west Detroit as my father was a Detroit Police sergeant for 25 years. I have a passion for food, cooking and eating and always looking to try new things and experience a different cultures' signature dishes. I love to throw some meat on the smoker low and slow while our family goes crazy over Antonia's beloved NY Giants and my bittersweet love of the Detroit Lions. We do our best to never miss my Michigan State Spartans play either.
We are looking forward to our Airbnb guests and this experience and hope you take care and love our lake house as much as we do.
