Very disappointed with these guests as from the beginning I was mucked around with dates and then from there own fault of sending me a date to approve them to stay at my weekender (which was there own fault) They have indicated that this was my fault when in fact it was theres and then it was all down hill from there it appears. This guest cannot be happy regardless of what you do. In saying this as soon as I saw the incorrect booking come through I called airbnb straight away and had the courtesy of calling the guest to let her know and try to explain this to her. Yes my pool is green at the moment but it is also Winter and so absolutely icy cold and because I have been away for much of the last 6 months with work, it only started going green the last month I think that is unreasonable considering no one would even consider going swimming in water that is 3 degrees. I thought the communication was great to be honest. I had allowed an early check in for this guest and had left my key out for them and had informed them of where the key was. This is a weekender of mine. I am not going to be at home to greet them and hold there hand - again I think the comment about this is extremely unfair and unreasonable.
Upon arriving at the house basically to check up on the guest and make them feel welcome I got what I would say was a relatively cold shoulder where all three of them were basically on there phones on my couch and a conversation was like getting water out of a stone. I understand that there english was not great and i do understand there can be a language barrier but after driving from Broadbeach to make sure they would be comfortable and happy with everything to which I asked them this and they said yes.
This is not a 'coin change' service. My home is not on instant book and every enquiry I talk to the guest first and I would say an error of judgement was made with allowing such fickle and ungrateful guests!
The house is a 30 year old house, it is not a grand palace and is not exactly very expensive to stay here. The price reflects the property and I have had plenty of guests stay here who all love it and appreciate it for what it is.
In summary these guests are hard to please and going out of my way to make a comfortable stay was not worth the time or the small amount of money for the night stay. In terms of cleanliness a 3 star rating would be fair as the next day there was food and corn chips on my couch and on the floor, along with ring marks on my new coffee table. I didn't leave a review purely because I ran out of time and usually only leave reviews for amazing guests.
Disappointing stay with these guys and would not recommend as they will pick on everything and are ungrateful!!! #1star
