Our place is close to everything you need in this small car free village (size 1000 m x 500 m). You can walk around, take electric buses and taxis, or rent a bike. We provide a heated room near the ski lift where you can leave your clothes and equipment, so not to carry them back to the house. We are located in the sunniest part of the village where most of the locals live. You can enjoy breathtaking views, guaranteed snow all year, numerous outdoor activities, and great walks.
We hope that you will find everything you need and that everything is self explanatory.
So just a few points and explanations starting form the lowest floor.
The main heater accumulates the heat during the night (Roman letters show 33, 66 or 100%). The other button with Latin letters shows the temperature you want to have during the day. The button with the light is useful for extra heating in very cold weather. The same heater is at level +1.
Please use the doors of the wardrobe carefully as if slammed the lower sliders tend to jump out and can be pushed back by lifting the door, but the exercise is better avoided.
The Jacuzzi works like a normal bath but on the little display you can switch on and off the massage by bubbles of air or water. When you empty the Jacuzzi please turn on the bubbles for a few seconds so that the water system is emptied and dried. You may repeat this a couple of times.
There is private storage room at that level and the key is not provided to guests
Electric heaters have an on/off button and a dial for temperature. According to Swiss law the usage of electricity is limited in the peak hours so do not be alarmed if some heaters sometimes do not work, usually during the day.
The WI FI internet works well in the house. The password is written on top of the router. Very rarely it gets "stuck" and then usually recovers by itself, but you may need to unplug the modem and the router for 30 seconds for the system to reset itself.
For cable TV (170 channels) use the input button (square with an arrow showing towards the inside of it) on the Sharp remote to get Ext 4, and then use the black remote to change channels, but volume and picture are still on the Sharp remote.
You have two sets of XBOX controllers, DVD player and some classic board games. Enjoy it.
In the study corner you have a new printer to connect to your laptop by USB cable, a collection of books and DVDs, we hope you will like some of them. In the desk you have various electrical cables that you may need.
On top of the kitchen elements there is a box with instructions for most of the devices in the house.
If you wish to use the wooden stove please do it carefully, it burns very well. The extra wood is on the balcony.
The three levels are connected with a spiral staircase which is steep and can be slippery. Please take care and we apologise that our chalet is not suitable for people with walking disabilities.
Rubbish is deposited in dedicated small wooden houses at many places in the village, the nearest one is on the corner where Grosses Moos street becomes Im Brand. It can be deposited only in approved orange bags which can be bought at check out of any supermarket. We leave two bags for you, if you need more please buy them. Recycling is under the parking terrace near the post and tourist offices.
Room in the post office
We have rented a warm room in the cellar of the post office and we keep our skiing equipment there. So we can walk 3/4 of the way to the lift in lighter gear and we equip ourselves there. The use of that room is included in our offer and we hope that you will find it helpful. It is particularly helpful if you ski from Alpin Express ski lift which is near. It is less useful for the baby lifts area. Patrik will give you the key if you want to use the room.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
Please note that your contact in Saas Fee is Patrik whose phone number will be made available to you befor arrival. He has the key to the chalet and he will normally meet you there, but if you arrive very late, or if for any reason he cannot meet you, he will instruct you about the key or even leave the door open for you to enter the chalet.
At the end of your holiday please inform Patrik when you will be leaving so that he can meet you and get the key.
Please check in after 3 pm on the day of your arrival and check out before 9 am on the day of your departure.
Visp is the town down in the Valais valley where you turn towards Saas Fee. You can take the Postal Bus or drive your own car. It will take you a little less than 30 minutes.
Saas Fee is a car free village so you have to park the car in a parking house at the entrance to the village. As you enter and take the ticket you can go straight at the same level to the big parking space where you cannot leave the car, but can load and unload your vehicles. The spaces are marked and there are telephones there if you wish to call an electro - taxi to take you to the chalet. We recommend Mr Egon Supersaxo whose phone number is +(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) (he was recommended to us by Metro Bar, and you should mention that, he will always make every effort to help you). It is preferable to book the taxi when you know your plans for arriving and leaving. If Mr Egon is all booked you have the numbers of other taxis there. If all parking spaces are taken you have the same temporary parking one level up.
After unloading you can park your car at 9 levels lower than the entrance level. We recommend that in heavy rain or snow.
In dry weather we recommend that you go 2 levels up, turn right over the bridge and you will find yourselves on a big terrace. Turn right and park as far away as possible so that you are nearer the chalet. If you turn left you go towards the centre of the village, tourist and post office, ski lifts etc. When parked you can call the taxi (look at the sign to see in which area you are parked).
Or you can walk to the chalet (7 min) if you do not have too much luggage or like to walk several times. During working hours you can borrow a cart from the Tourist Office (free for one hour). You may want to leave your skiing gear in the car and transport it to our warm room at the Post Office which is near the main ski lift.
On the village plan, (which we shall Email you), our chalet, MV11, is marked. Park as close as possible to the Parkstrasse which you will take to go to the chalet. Turn left to Grosses Moos and than right to Grosses Moos again. Grosses Moos becomes Im Brand and you are at number 40.
- The staircase may not comfortable for people with walking difficulties
