Welcome to the Hamilton Library at The Doctor's House! This is a one bedroom suite in a beautiful 1889 Victorian home with a separate sitting room, private bathroom, and private entrance. (Used to be the Alexander Hamilton House B&B) The house is surrounded by enormous trees and backs onto a cliff with beautiful views of the Hudson River. Just a couple blocks to the quiet and quaint village of Croton-on-Hudson.
Your space features a private entrance, sitting room, bedroom, and private bathroom. Separate bathroom and shower room. There is Cable TV, WiFi, a microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle, and mini fridge provided.
Accès des voyageurs
Guests have access to the entire grounds, which includes a pool in the summer months! (Not heated, but very refreshing!) There are beautiful river views from the back yard, and gorgeous trees all around. Guests do not have access to the garage or main house. There is a large parking area in back for guests.
Also, for transparency's sake, we have two pet cats who live in the main house with us. They have not, however, ever managed to sneak into the guest space (or our laundry room), so allergies shouldn't be a concern. Aside from the possibility of a little dinnertime meowing, you won't even know they're here!
—Although the house used to be a full Bed and Breakfast, we don't provide breakfast (aside from a coffee maker and coffee, a kettle, and a pastry in your room).
—Also, although it is a separate suite, it is still part of a house, so sound does carry. Please be considerate, and we will do the same.
—Local friends or family you may be visiting are welcome (during normal waking hours, and in small numbers as it's a small space), but please don't invite strangers over.
—No additional overnight guests
— Unfortunately the fireplace is not functional
—We cannot accommodate film crews or any similar media bookings.
—No exceptions on kids or pets, sorry.
We love to meet guests on their way in to show them around, and see if we can offer any suggestions to help make their stay even better. We both typically work from home, so are available should any questions arise, but like guests to feel independent otherwise. We also a provide a binder of useful tips of what to do and where to eat in the area.
I am a decorative artist, and my husband Evan is an illustrator. We live in Croton-on-Hudson, New York, and love to travel! I grew up mostly in England, and Evan is from Colorado.
We moved up here from New York City after falling in love with the Hudson Valley while looking for places to get married! The Hudson Valley felt like a perfect blend of England's historic quaintness and rolling landscapes, and Colorado's amazing nature and outdoor opportunities. Now that we're here, we can't wait to share our own little slice of the Valley with guests and hope they love it as much as we do!
