A quiet location just 8 miles from downtown Bangor. Located on a private road on a peninsula; open lake on one side and wetland on the other. Enjoy the sounds of nature- bullfrogs in the spring, ducks, geese, loons, eagles in the summer through the fall , cracking ice in the winter. Quiet, safe, and friendly neighborhood.

Beautiful tongue and groove pine walls in the living room which has a windowed view of the lake just a dozen feet outside. Updated kitchen and bathroom. Second floor offers two sleeping areas separated by the stairwell - (more like an open loft than two separate bedrooms)- the areas can sleep 2 in a queen and 1 person each in two single beds. but will be renovated into one master bedroom in the future. A sofa downstairs turns into a bed which can sleep 2. Canoes, kayaks and BBQ provided. The host lives next door and is available to answer questions about the lake and surrounding area.
A great spot to enjoy a good book in a swaying hammock. Feel free to ask any questions.

Absolutely heaven! The picture is accurate-it's right on the lake. Jay & and Kristy were amazing hosts welcoming us with fresh vegetables from their garden the first night & making us comfortable in every possible way. Grandpa got to teach his granddaughter to fish na pier

We Had a great stay at the cottage. It is a typical little lakeside cottage on an amazing spot by the lake. Jay and his girlfriend are great hosts. They provided us with anything we needed and beyond. They are the greatest hosts we had, : present, caring and discrete. The cottage is well equiped and Jay provided us with canoe, hamacs, kayaks, bbq, outside fire place. We stayed a week and had great vacations. If you like playing outside, enjoying the lake and the water view , this is the place for you.

Lakeside Cabin was exactly what I was looking for. I stayed there for five days with my dog. Location: The lake is really lovely, and there's a long private dock in the backyard of the cabin. There aren't really many other houses in close proximity, so it's super private and very quiet (except for nature sounds). The cabin is almost at the very end of a private road, so there's no through traffic at all. But while it's a little remote and quiet, it's also close enough to Bangor to be easy to get anything you need. One of the reasons I chose it was the proximity to Acadia (about 90 min away) which is an INCREDIBLE place. I don't really like lake swimming, but my dog was so excited that she refused to get out of the water for very long while we were there, which was awesome. I'm going to assume everyone reading this already knows how beautiful Acadia and the rest of Maine are, so I'll leave those parts out and stick to reviewing the cabin. :) The cabin is rustic but clean and has a fantastic, modern kitchen, and the bathroom is updated, too. It can sleep four in beds, though I only used the one "master" bedroom. The floors are all wood, which I really liked and appreciated. There were also brand new fans that I didn't even use because it was warm but not hot enough to be uncomfortable (I like in Brooklyn where the summers are awful and heat is oppressive, so this was great!). The downstairs area (living and dining space) is almost all windows, so there's a ton of light and a great view, and it was great to be able to sit down there on the one day it rained. The yard has a brand-new firepit (which I didn't use because I was too happy with the kitchen) and a really nice, new hammock which was the perfect place to lounge. There are also a bunch of chairs. Jay and his family live a couple of houses down, and even brought me peas to have with my dinner one night. They also were super helpful the day I got locked out and helped me with the boats so I could get use out of them. In general, I would say that the cabin has a perfect balance of rustic where you want it (in terms of privacy) and very modern in terms of appliances. Jay and his family are fantastic hosts and super kind people. I will definitely be booking this again next summer!

The Lakeside Cottage was just what we were looking for: a quiet place to relax and enjoy nature. Though the sunrise itself is blocked from view, the windows afford a fantastic view of the clouds and water as they change colors with the first morning light. In addition, the kitchen was very well stocked with breakfast foods, plus water bottles to take on our day trips. How often will you find real maple syrup, milk, orange juice, sparkling water, waffles, butter, apples, oranges, AND bananas stocked just for you? We had a bountiful feast and are pleased to recommend Jay's Lakeside Cottage to the friendly folks of Air B&B. Just remember to bring bug spray- as with any lake, there is a hearty population of mosquitoes, though they did not bother us much during the day. We also recommend bringing sunscreen- Jay's canoe and kayaks are available for use, and you could spend a whole day out on that lake if you wanted to see more of the coves!

Wonderful Maine camp experience. We stayed or our son's UMaine-Orono graduation. Wifi, Chromecast, adequate cell signal kept us connected and entertained. Any closer to the water and you'd be in it. Beautiful scenery

Jay and and the cottage are both fantastic! Jay is so friendly, and the place was clean and inviting. We got there in the dark so it was lovely to wake up to the view of the lake in the morning. Great location; highly recommend.

I'm a born and raised Mainer who has traveled throughout Central and South America, South East Asia, New Zealand as well as across the US by bicycle and along the Appalachian Trail twice. I'm employed as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service. I enjoy the outdoors and own two small camps right on the waters of Pushaw Lake just outside of Bangor, Maine. My goal is to rent out one of the camps to couples who want to enjoy lakeside living in Maine. I'm new to hosting but have had enjoyable experiences in hostels and homes throughout the world. I enjoy learning the cultures, foods and languages of fellow world travelers.
