I invite you to my beautifully renovated 2-room flat with air conditioning and a balcony--both rare features--in the very centre of Warsaw at the "Świętokrzyska" metro stop. It's a modern place with just a hint of the bygone communist era, since the flat is located in a 1960s high rise (with a lift), and it contains a few restored mid-century pieces of furniture and objects of everyday use. This is a great place for a solo traveler or 2-4 travelers, business people, and families with children.
I can offer dropping by car from the airport and it includes waiting for the plane if it is late.
The flat for rent features a living room with a sofa bed that unfolds into a double bed and a separate bedroom with another double bed. Thus up to 4 travelers can comfortably fit into this generous 2-room space. You can enjoy panoramic views of Warsaw from a balcony located off the living room (FYI: the flat is located on the 9th floor, and the building has a lift). This place boasts air conditioning which is hard to find in Polish flats in general. A separate kitchen is equipped with a fridge, microwave, and all other amenities and utensils needed for preparing meals. There you will also find an array of teas and coffees for your enjoyment. The tiled bathroom includes a shower stall, a toilet, a sink, a washer, and a clothes line for drying laundry. Additionally, a free-standing laundry air dryer can be unfolded on the balcony. A TV, iron, ironing board, and hair dryer are additional amenities available for guests' use.
This is a modern, comfortable apartment, with just a touch of nostalgia. A few mid-century furniture pieces and objects of everyday use have been renovated and preserved, as they were classic in the bygone communist era (1945-89), during which Polish design flourished. There is a typical 1950s-60s round dining table and 4 chairs that have been thoroughly refurbished. The chairs even still retain the 1950s tags. Cylindrical glass teacups with metal holders, which were widely used for tea drinking in communist Poland and Russia, can also be found at the flat; you are welcome to use them, of course. Porcelain mugs and dishes from the 1950s-60s are also typical examples of the Polish school of funtional design from that era. The high-rise apartment building that houses the flat for rent, was built at the turn of the 1950s and 1960s, and embodies the architectural style of the times. You will be able to experience how local people lived in Polish cities in the last fifty plus years and still live today.
