Marco was an excellent host. We use Airbnb a lot and he is the best host we have had the pleasure of dealing with. The day we arrived we were very late, but Marco had no hesitation in waiting. He dropped us at the local supermarket so that we could stock up for our visit. At the end of our stay, he personally drove us to the nearest Metro Station so that we did not have the trouble of carrying our bags on buses and trains.
The apartment itself had everything we needed as if we were in our own home. The electric shutters on then windows and doors kept the apartment cool and the balcony had a barbeque, table and chairs and it was lovely after a long day of sightseeing to just chill out with a beer and watch the world go by.
Marco also left us with a few bits and bobs, croissants and cereal for breakfast, oddments in the store cupboard like tea, coffee, sugar, salt ... the things you often forget.
There is one bus stop directly at the end of the road where you can catch a bus to the train station to get into town and if you want to go another route, there is another bus stop just round the corner. Once you crack the journey, it is very easy.
It was nice to be away from the noise of Central Rome in the evenings.
There are two nice restaurants within easy walking distance which was lovely.
All in all, this was a fabulous trip. Rome is amazing, but if you have had enough of the City, it is also very easy to take a train to the Coast. We went to Ostia and Anzio, both lovely beaches and towns.
Advice to anyone visiting Rome would be. Ladies, wear clothes that cover your knees and take a shawl as most Basillica and Churches insist on this and you will visit quite a few.
Also, buy a 7 day Public Transport ticket, you can get them at most Tabbach stands, at the time of writing this review they are only 24 Euros and they cover you for all the city transport, bus, train, Metro and tram. Also they cover you for a trip to Ostia.
Thank you Marco, we had an absolutely phenomenal trip and knowing that you were always on the end of the phone if we needed anything was a great boon.
