Just 3 miles from Glastonbury, Upper Crannel has 200 acres of grassland with the river Hartlake running through the centre of the estate. It has a handsome flock of sheep and the fields are delightful to walk through. One is surrounded by wildlife and there is no noise of traffic. The accommodation is utterly contemporary and luxurious and the views towards Glastonbury Tor to the south and the Mendips to the North are superb.
The Barn at Upper Crannel was designed by London architect Richard Paxton. It is on the meticulously run small estate of Upper Crannel. The huge kitchen/dining room and the living room are full of interesting art work and books and are generously equipped.

The estate is open to visitors to enjoy and there is a garden with benches just by the Barn. Walking in all directions and cycling to Glastonbury is only a matter of 15 minutes.

Being a shepherd I am around on the estate most of the time and am more than happy to give what local information I can.
I'm passionate about organic sheep farming and creating habitat for wildlife on my land. Having travelled and trekked in many countries around the world, what drew me to this special site in Somerset was the uninterrupted, tranquil landscape with long views. Here I surround myself with interesting objets d'arts, pictures, books, rugs and classical music.
