Our place in Trego Wi is such a great place for family and friends, on 8 acres give plenty of room for all. With the best of both worlds of being on the Namakogon River and Trego Lake opens up lots of options. The recreation are the area is amazing, with access to the Wild rive trail system right out the back door is amazing. Our cabin is full of all amenaties. The cabin has additional sleeping on pull out couches and futons and could possibly accomidate up to 15 people depending.
On the lake and on the river, the 9-acre Trego Northern Estate provides the best of both worlds. The sandy bottom Namekagan River gently flows at a depth of 2 to 5 feet through Trego Lake and provides a scenic backdrop for great kayaking, canoeing, fishing, paddle-boarding, or just floating along on your pontoon or inner-tube. Wildlife and birds abound, perfect for hunting with your camera. Come see the fall colors at their peak; they are truly breathtaking! Part of the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway, the Namekogan is a lazy river winding its way through God’s country. Perfect for tubing, a popular 13-mile stretch delivers you to your own personal beach after 2 to 3 hours of floating downstream, leaving the stresses of city life far behind. And within driving distance, there are a great number of larger, deeper lakes for your speed boat water activities.
The Trego Northern Estate is the perfect spot for your family vacation, girls’ getaway, or guys’ wilderness retreat. Take advantage thousands of acres of public hunting land nearby featuring some of the best deer and bear hunting in Wisconsin. Enjoy the local tourism: a train museum, the fishing capital of the world, shopping, restaurants, summertime festivals, and much much more. The 98-mile inter-state Gandy Dancer Snowmobile Trail and the 104 mile Wild River Trail System are just two of the many local trails groomed for hiking, horseback riding, biking, ATV’s, snowmobiles, and cross country skiing.
Nearly every weekend during the warm months you can find a local festival in a number of nearby towns. The cold months showcase a winter wonderland of family fun and relaxation. Take in the spectacle of the Spooner Rodeo and Jack Pine Savage Days in Spooner, or Lumberjack World Championships (seen on ESPN) and American Birkebeiner in Hayward. Relax among the pines in this privately owned family cabin nestled into 9 acres right on the Namekagan riverfront. Watch bald eagles soar overhead. Swim or catch some rays at your own sandy beach. The canoeing and kayaking are awesome or you can fish right from shore. For a change of scenery, venture out onto the 451 acre Trego Lake. Watch your kids create fun in the woods or build your own family memories. A large 4 season family room, an eat-in kitchen, a man-cave/party garage, and an oversized fire pit offer cozy gathering spots for friends and family. Head over to Spooner or Hayward for plenty of shopping, dinner and drinks, or summer festivals. Just one hour away is Duluth and all that Lake Superior has to offer.
This particular cabin is relaxed and comfortable but you definitely will not be roughing it; the women will love it! There is lots of room for family and friends, plus adequate space for RVs, trailers and tents on the property. With central heat and air conditioning, a washer/dryer, warm showers, a gas fireplace and stove, TV and VCR / DVD player, this cabin has all the comforts of home. Don’t worry about bringing entertainment and fire wood because it is all supplied: bago/cornhole, bocci ball, a canoe, your own dock on a sandy beach, inner tubes, firewood, a nice big kitchen stocked with dishes, pots & pans, silverware, etc. There is an outdoor gas grill near the picnic table and a wood burning stove in the man cave/party garage. And for those occasional rainy days, there are hundreds of movies and board games in the family room.
