You'll be staying in one of my sweet bedrooms in my 3 bedroom 1.5 bathroom house. I live in the 3rd room and will stay out of your way, or in your way if you want! You've got full access to the whole house with all the fixings. It can be your home away from home as cheesy as that sounds. The house is on Capitol Hill and blocks from the vibrant H Street corridor full of bars and restaurants. Your room, and the house in general have a distinctively patriotic decor, because, c’mon, it’s DC.
First things first, while you’re technically only renting a bedroom, you are not a prisoner to those walls. I’ve got a whole house you are welcome to enjoy. Cook in the kitchen, bust out a laptop in the dining room, or chill in the living room.
==Your Private Bedroom==
Your bedroom is your domain, and it comes with a lock and a key.
Inside you’ll find a queen size memory foam bed, super soft and cool microfiber sheets, a comforter and duvet if you’re a warm weather soul, the normal boring sleeping pillows, and most importantly, a boatload of patriotic throw pillows. Oh, and there might be a delicious York Peppermint Patty on your pillow too...because dark chocolate is full of antioxidants, and mint is a plant, so it *must* be good for you. You’ve got side tables on either side of the bed with task lamps if you’re a non kindle reading in bed kind of person and two power strips for all your devices. There’s a North facing window that looks over the oh so exciting side of my house, backyard, alley, and neighbors yards. Ok, maybe it’s not so inspiring, but it gives you daylight if you open the blinds. That’s something right?
You get a glass top desk, office chair, task lamp, a power strip of plugs for your gizmos, and a mirror on the wall to gaze longingly into your own eyes whenever you feel like it. What’s most exciting about the desk? The welcome goodies which includes some bottles of water, some small DC souvenir trinkets, and a bottle of wine!
You won’t find a passage to Narnia (or if you do please let me know) but you will find some fuzzy warm blankets if you need extras, hangers for doing that whole clothes hanging thing, a couple of robes, a hamper for towels, and a fan in case you’re either one of those white noise kinda folks, or you just like cool air. I don’t discriminate. Next to the closet you’ll find an small storage ottoman (that you can sit on!). It has an extra blanket inside, and a basket on top holds four sets of towels and washcloths. Need more towels? No problem! They’re in a closet in the upstairs hall.

==The House In General==
Awesome early 1900's Capitol Hill rowhouse, fully renovated over the years to feel modern and comfortable. On a quiet street with a spectrum of young professionals, families, and more! It is close to the hip H Street, historic Eastern Market, the U.S. Capitol and more. The house is within 1 block of a number of bus routes, capital bike shares, a couple of blocks away from the H St Streetcar, and a short walk to a couple of Metro subway stations. You’ll live in the future with the keyless entry lock on the front door so all you need is a 4 digit pin.
There is fast and strong wifi throughout the house, so bring your devices. A Nest thermostat keeps the house and humans happy. There's free parking for your car as long as you give me a heads up!
I’ve got a fully stocked kitchen with most gizmos that you’d need. There’s the standard gas stove, gas oven, dishwasher, microwave, side by side fridge, and super deep sink. Pots, pans, dishes, glasses, you name it, are all for the taking. There is a coffee maker for making coffee, and a wide selection of teas from all over. I’m a tea dude. Oh, and a bunch of hot chocolate, because who doesn’t like hot chocolate? But wait, there’s more! I like free food, it’s one of my favorite things. So channeling my inner Oprah, I’m sharing my favorite things with you. Bacon, eggs, and orange juice are in the fridge whenever you’d like to whip something up. I’ve got a selection of instant oatmeals, granola bars, and fruit for you grab and go jet setting types. And most importantly, my cheap and yet favorite food, I’ve got a shelf of Cup of Noodles. #MicDrop
|____The Dining Room____|
I’ve got a giant table that is my current restoration project. It started it’s life as a conference table in a war room of a campaign I ran, and she’s been by my side ever since. You can eat here, work here, play here, whatever! There’s ample light for working, and I’ve got office supplies scatters on the shelves around it because MacGyver should have taught you that you can *always* use a paperclip.
|____The Living Room____|
A large 55” or 60”...I can’t remember...flatscreen TV with a Chromecast and cable, albeit standard definition cable. There’s a cabinet full of puzzles and board games if you ever need. A couch, sitting ottoman, and small bistro table for sitting and contemplating humanity.
There is a full bathroom upstairs and a half bathroom downstairs. So keep in mind that means one shower and two toilets. I’ve got toiletries to your heart’s content. Individually sized shampoos, conditioners, and soaps await you in the upstairs vanity. But if you’re eco friendly, I’ve got the big bottles of name brand goodies in the shower :) Cotton balls, Q-tips, toothbrushes, and razors are all there too in case you forgot something.
The only thing you should care about my room is that there is a steam washer and dryer. So if you need to do a load of laundry, just let me know! With all the politics in this town you’re bound to get dirty.

I think I’m what the interwebs has decided to call an extroverted introvert. So I can totally hang out in my room, stay out of your way, and keep it simple in terms of interaction. On the flipside, I can also chat it up and interact as much as possible. It’s totally up to you. Sometimes I like my anonymity when staying places, other times I don’t mind socializing, I totally get it.
The front steps to my front door are steeper than normal steps. They look normal, but your legs will feel it. Mentally prepare for that!
It’s a 3 bedroom home, I live in one bedroom, you’ll live in 1 bedroom, and potentially some other awesome Airbnbers will live in the 3rd.
Washington DC has a trap, neuter, and release (TNR) program for feral alley cats in town, which is awesome. That means strays get caught, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and returned to where they were picked up. It helps to control the feral population and is also humane.
While no pets live inside the home a few of the alley cats have adopted my backyard so I watch after them, especially since they handle all the critters of city life. It’s a mutually beneficial relationship. They are super sweet and nothing like I had imagined from my TV version of alley cats. I hope that doesn’t make me sound like the young, sane, male version of the old crazy cat lady. #SquadGoals
A portion of each Airbnb rental goes to two programs, the CATNIPP program from the Humane Society in DC, and the Alley Cat Allies. Both do phenomenal work so your stay helps to do some good!
