I am married to Shelley, and we are both writers. Her debut novel, The Confession of Stella Moon, launched in 2016 from Saraband. My first slim volume of poetry also came out in 2016. We are both northerners, drawn to Scotland and Scandinavia by the friendly people and clear cool light. We are fans of modern art, and the flat is within walking distance of great galleries, museums, cinemas and concert halls. Our son is an artist based in LA and his work is all round the flat. Stay here and you will discover Edinburgh's bohemian quarter, Stockbridge, close to the Water of Leith where we love to watch the resident heron and kingfishers (with a little luck). We also love the many brilliant pubs and restaurants, and walking - whether it be the 10 minutes into the city centre, or an hour down the Water of Leith Walkway to the sea.
